UFO researchers seek gov't 'truths'

The truth is out there somewhere and if the U.S. government is covering it up, UFO researchers want to know.

They are also encouraged by the fact that Hillary Clinton has said she’ll reveal what she can about the subject if she is elected president – unless it threatens national security, Winnipeg’s Grant Cameron said.

Cameron will be one of seven experts who will address the very first Canadian Public Hearing on UFOs in Brantford, Ont., June 25.

“We need openness on this issue, it’s time to stop playing around,” said Cameron, who has written several books on it, including ‘UFOs, Area 51, and Government Informants.’

“It’s important because, if you look at the implications, the aliens are giving the message that we’re destroying our world,” said Cameron, 62. “And that we’re not the only fish in the fish bowl.”

It could also unite the world against a possible threat instead of people fighting each other, he added.

Cameron first got into UFO research after he believes he saw one during the infamous Charlie Red Star phenomenon around Carman 41 years ago.

“I didn’t really think I’d see anything, but then it flew right in front of our car,” said Cameron, who retired as a University of Manitoba facilities manager six years ago.

But he’s not trying to prove what he saw.

“The answer’s not determined by what you see in the sky, you need to get some better evidence,” Cameron said.

That evidence, he believes, can be found in American files on UFOs. In fact, Cameron recently won two international awards for his research of presidential files on extraterrestrials.

Even John Podesta, Clinton’s campaign manager who also worked for Bill Clinton when he was the president, believes there has been a cover-up and wants it to end, Cameron claims.

The hearing is part of the Alien Cosmic Expo in Brantford that weekend.

“We want the Canadian government to do more on this and if they don’t, they’re part of the cover-up,” said Bob Mitchell, one one of the event’s organizers.

Also speaking will be: former Deputy Prime Minister Paul Hellyer, who will discuss Canada’s knowledge of the subject, Richard Dolan, Steven Bassett, Nick Pope, Stanton Friedman and Travis Walton.

Chris Rutkowski, a well-known local UFO researcher, got a late invitation but was not interested in attending.

“I don’t think there’s anything that’s being kept hidden and, even if there was, I don’t think Hillary Clinton would release it,” Rutkowski said.

The Canadian public hearing on UFOs is meeting in Brantford on Saturday, June 25. Here’s what they’ll be discussing:

-UFO sighting reports

-The crash at Roswell, NM, in 1947

-Official government UFO documents obtained through FOIA and the Canadian Access to Information Act

-What U.S. presidents know about the UFO/ET issue

-Alien abductions

-Documented international UFO incidents over U.S. and UK military and nuclear installations

THE PANEL

-Paul Hellyer: Former Canadian deputy prime minister and minister of defence, the highest-ranking former government official to claim the existence of ETs and the world-wide government cover-up.

-Richard Dolan: An American UFO author, researcher and historian.

-Steve Bassett: A U.S. lobbyist demanding the U.S. government “come clean” on UFOs and alien contact. He is the executive director of the Paradigm Research Group in Washington.

-Nick Pope: UFO author, who previously ran the UFO investigation department with the British ministry of defence.

-Grant Cameron: A Manitoba-based UFO researcher specializing in “what the presidents know.”

-Stanton Friedman: A retired nuclear physicist and expert on the 1947 Roswell incident.

-Travis Walton: who says he was abducted and whose book Fire in the Sky was turned into a Hollywood movie.

You won't get Stan Friedman to admit it but from what I can gather from a few books I've read on the subject the only thing that happened at Roswell was a top secret military operation called Mogul. The reason the military was evasive about it was due the secrecy of their operation during the beginning of the Cold War and afterwards. Most of the witnesses that gave the UFO community information about Roswell were people recollecting their thoughts about it over two decades later. Friedman has several books about it himself but in my opinion and the opinion of many others his research is about as biased and exaggerated as it gets. But its made him a lot of money with his books and the lecture circuit.

As far as aliens go I have my doubts we've ever been visited but not 100%. May 99.5%. I got the following from a site called "About Education" and written by John P. Mills, Ph.D Space/Science Expert:

"Have aliens ever visited the earth? There are people who think they have but so far, there's no proof that this has happened. Is it possible for a physical being to travel here and walk around unnoticed?

How Would Aliens Get to Earth?

Before we can even address whether beings from another world have indeed visited the earth, we have to think about how they would get here in the first place. Since we have not yet detected extraterrestrial life in our own solar system, it's safe to assume that aliens would have to travel from a distant star system. If they could travel at the speed of light, it would take decades to make the trip from a close neighbor such as Alpha Centauri system (which is 4.2 light years away).

Or would it? Is there a way to travel the incredible distances of the galaxy faster than the speed of light? Well, yes and no. There are several theories that would allow for such travel to exist. But, if you look at the details, such travel becomes less of a possibility.

So is it impossible?

At the very least it seems that interstellar travel will involve science and technology that we have yet to even dream about.

Is There Evidence That We Have Been Visited?

Let's assume for a moment that it is somehow possible to transverse the galaxy in a reasonable amount of time. After all, any alien race able to visit us would be more advanced (at least technologically) and able to build the ships needed to get here. What evidence do we have that aliens have actually arrived?

Unfortunately nearly all the evidence is anecdotal.

That is, hearsay and not scientifically verified. There are many pictures of UFOs, but they're very grain and lack the crisp details that would stand up to scientific scrutiny. Most of the time, since the images are taken at night, the photos and videos are nothing more than lights moving in the night sky. But, does the lack of clarity in the images and videos mean that they are fake (or at the very least useless)? Not exactly. Photographs and video may shed light onto phenomena that we can't explain right away. That doesn't make the objects in those images proof of aliens. It just means that the objects were unidentified.

What about physical evidence? There have been claimed discoveries of UFO crash sites and interactions with actual aliens (dead and alive). However, the evidence is still inconclusive at best. Most of the physical evidences lacks corroboration or any witness at all. Some things can't be explained, but that does not necessarily mean that they are alien.

However, it is interesting to note the evolution of the evidence over the years.Specifically, in the early 20th Century nearly all the stories of alien spacecraft described seeing something resembled a flying saucer. Any alien beings that people thought they say looked mostly human. In more recent years, aliens have taken on a more alien appearance. Their spacecraft (as reported by witnesses) look far more advanced. As our own technology advanced, the design and technology of UFOs increased proportionally.

Psychology and Aliens

This is something we can't ignore. It appears that the description of aliens and their craft are correlated with our bias and belief of what they should look like. As our understanding of science and technology evolve, so does the evidence. The simplest explanation for this is that our societal and environmental influences are causing us to see things as we want to see them; they fit our expectations. Had we actually been visited by aliens our perception and description of them shouldn't have changed. Unless of course the aliens themselves have changed, and had dramatic increases in technology over time. This seems rather unlikely. Ultimately, there is a lack of any conclusive proof that we have been visited by alien beings. In fact the odds seem heavily stacked against it."

That is nothing more than one man's opinion and he doesn't even address what I would call best evidence on UFOs so in short all he is doing is making noise.

Due to my own encounters and experiences I have developed a fascination for UFO research as well as other topics related to paranormal phenomena. I have been blessed, or curse I guess you could say to experience a lot of paranormal activity first hand. I still have no idea how to understand some of the experiences I've had. All I can say is that due to my experiences I now have the mentality that, "anything can be possible", and all I can say about that is unless you've had experiences like most of the people who are for disclosure and advocate for the paranormal, then you have no idea what these people have went through or witnessed. I can totally understand why someone would meet paranormal claims with skepticism but all I can say is there's a whole world out there around us that we will never be able to explain.

As for the statement or question of, "how do they get here"? Most people view these beings as extra-terrestrial meaning they come from far away galaxies, and who know they may be. However, my personal theory after conducting years of research is that I feel these beings may be more inter-dimensional than extra-terrestrial. Basically meaning they come from unknown dimensions we are not able to access normally, or perhaps even come from "spiritual realms" or dimensions. Physics have already proven there can be up to 11-12 dimensions co-existing simultaneously. We can only experience 4, our three known dimensions and then time is the fourth dimension. So this begs the question, what is happening in all the other dimensions we cannot experience?

Furthermore, this can play into a religious or spiritual context as well. Many religions describe positive and negative spiritual beings, whether you want to use the Christian terms Angel/Demons, or what have you. My personal belief is that most of these beings are the same beings that were known as the "gods" in ancient times. The Bible describes some of the fallen angels and demons as half man half animal type creatures. You look at Egyptian mythology or some of the ancient mystery religions and this is how their "gods" are described. So for me these "gods" are really the fallen angels of the Bible who brought knowledge and technology to mankind. IMO they are still doing the same things today, only instead of perceiving them as "gods" we know them as aliens or extraterrestrials. Personally I feel they are "spiritual beings" from other realms or dimensions who can cross over and interact with us on occasion. Some abduction experiences are eerily similar to how people describe experiences with demonic possession. The Bible and other religious texts can help support this claim and make more sense of it. The Bible has passages that talk about UFO's and different "beings", as does almost every major religion or culture around the world. I don't think they did that for just story and fairy tale, I feel like there was likely something to this phenomena. Alistair Crowley also said that he was in communication with an advanced spiritual or inter dimensional being and says that this is where he received most of his occult knowledge. Crowley later did a sketch of this being and it was essentially identical to the modern grey alien you see depicted today. Mind you this was in the 20's-30's before Roswell and before the UFO/Alien phenomena hit main stream. There was then, there are now. These beings have been visiting, watching, controlling, manipulating, and progressing our civilization for thousands of thousands of years and they are not going to stop any time soon.

At the end of the day though who knows, however, there has to be something to it IMO.

I think you are right on. What you are describing in each point you are making is exactly how I feel.

But you know how it is, when you start talking about String Theory and 11 Dimensions you lose everyone. I try to explain to people that there is mostly likely several dimensions we are not even aware of and any space we occupy is possibly occupied by other living beings in alternate dimensions. In other words everyone, when you sit down to watch TV you could have a Gray sitting with you on the couch. Seriously, it is possible.

I also agree about "Ancient Aliens." I know someone put something on the site recently claiming it debunked the Ancient Aliens series but if you watch the show that really isn't possible because they offer alternative explanations for what we believe to be actual events described in history and more often than not their explanations make more sense than the Biblical explanations.

I also agree with you on encounters. I have had two now, one new one just the other night. I really don't want to go into detail but if you watch the sky a lot at night sooner or later you are going to see something that defies logic/doesn't look right.

My initial encounters have caused me to pay way more attention the sky than I had before. One thing I tell people is if you actually invest time into sky watching and just being more aware and paying attention you will likely see something sooner or later. Ever since I actually started paying more attention I have seen all kinds of unexplainable phenomena. I mean lets face it, who really pays that much attention? We are all so busy that many of us never really pay that much attention to the sky. However, if you look hard enough you'd be surprised at some of the things you'll see.

I have also noticed an increase in these sightings, I've read about a lot more occurring world wide and from first hand accounts as well. I know in my area of the state sightings are through the roof right now and me and my girlfriend both saw something unexplainable the other night. She was a big time skeptic and would often give me a hard time, however, after the other night I think she now realizes there may be something to all of this.

Sightings have just been off the charts here lately.

Me too Brother. If what I saw the other night is our Military it is the fastest craft we have and it doesn't make any noise... :greyalien:

I saw two of them at the same time. I was with my girlfriend and told her I saw a bright light appear in the sky then disappear. It then reappeared what I estimated was a half mile to a mile or so away. It disappeared again then reappeared in yet another position in the sky. No consistent flight path like an aircraft, just a white light that appeared and reappeared in different locations. It then vanished.

I was telling my girlfriend about it and we watched for a couple more minutes. Then two objects suddenly appear out of no where. They were spaced an estimated couple of miles a part. They were still at first, did not move. My girlfriend started to question whether they were stars as I was telling her the one was moving slightly as she argued they were stationary. About that time they both started moving. The one on the left started to travel to the right on a incline. The object on the right started traveling left on an incline. The two basically intersected each other and traveled in opposite directions. It was almost like a formation or something. Both traveled extremely fast, much faster than an airplane. But their movements, trajectory, appearance, disappearance, reappearance made it hard for me to say definitively that it was just an ordinary occurrence. The whole phenomena was odd and even my girlfriend was on board with me in saying we definitely saw something strange that night (and again she is a huge skeptic).

You saw more than I did but we saw essentially the same thing. About three nights ago or so.

They were fireflies.

Or not.

This is a very interesting, thought provoking thread. After re-reading it I thought I'd share a text a friend sent me a few days ago:

"Our entire universe is probably in a tiny glass jar somewhere, placed on a shelf in an alien child's room as a science fair project that got a C-."

Looks like he watched Men In Black recently.

Is that movie where the quote originated? I watched the movie several times and loved it, just don't remember all the quotes.

It is a main part of the plot.
