About 15 minutes ago I saw something else unexplained in the sky. I saw what appeared to be two stars moving. I watched closely and used other points of light in the sky as reference points and they were indeed moving in what I would describe as a formation, one behind the other keeping an equal distance from each other. The brightness looked nearly identical to "an average star in the sky" then suddenly the leading object increased in brightness dramatically for about three seconds before returning to normal, then both lights started to fade and within three more seconds they were both gone. It appears to be a completely clear night out.

The other night immediately following the WEBN Fireworks some people nearby me released two chinese sky lanterns. As I watched them disappear into the night sky I couldn't help but to think how these objects could easily be mistaken for UFO's if someone didn't know what they were. Not saying that that's what you saw, but when they got way up there they looked like moving stars until they vanished from my view.

The other night immediately following the WEBN Fireworks some people nearby me released two chinese sky lanterns. I have seen those before, no way.

 

The altitude, consistent movement and speed all eliminate that in my mind. Plus the burst of light and then nothing.
