June 12, 201610 yr The debate on gun laws is really about to heat up. IMO terrorism (or mass murder) will never be stopped by any amount of gun control. It's what's in someone's head and heart that causes them to do things like this, not what's in their hands.
June 12, 201610 yr CBS reporting that a SWAT team saved approximately 30 "hostages" when they drove a vehicle thru a wall of the night club accompanied by flash bangs and were able to "neutralize" the shooter. The shooters family has shared he had anti-gay leanings....Yah Think!!! So Clydes post may shed some light on what made the shooter "Snap."
June 12, 201610 yr I don't think the shooter tried to sneak the weapon in, likely just walked through the door and started shooting. They there lies your first problem. Place like this shouldnt have the ability for people to just walk right in.

I can agree with that, but I believe there was an off duty LEO at the front door running security. Basically it appears he was outgunned. I'm not really sure what could have been done to avoid this, the guy was a terrorist and went into a gun free zone with the intent to kill unarmed civilians.
June 12, 201610 yr Shooter's father says the shooter became angry recently when two gay men were kissing in front of his young son. Very sad, if something bothers you then just ignore it, it's not hurting anyone. Now so many lives are lost, and his young son also is without a father.

I hate gun free zones in general, but a bar/nightclub is one place that should be gun free, as guns and alcohol don't mix. So I'm sure the anti gun people are going to run with this and pretend that if whatever rifle he was using was banned then this never would have happened. But in reality, it appears that this individual was ISIS inspired. The only solution I can really think of to prevent something or at least help prevent something like this is to squash ISIS once and for all.

June 12, 201610 yr My post isn't meant to be anywhere near political. Heck anytime we mention a politicians name don't mean it's political. But how can most controversies not be somewhat political? Good question, because they almost always are connected to politics.

This isn't San Bernardino. We have to look at the facts of the event. Had a semi automatic rifle and at least one pistol...according to early reports. 100s of people in the club meant that just about every shot probably hit someone and many shots probably hit more than one person. Proverbial "Shooting fish in a barrel"
