Stanley Cup Finals

The Penguins took the opener over San Jose, 2-1 in OT.

That was Game 2. Game 1 was Monday night, a 3-2 win for the Pens.

Pittsburgh leads 2-0 with Game 3 in San Jose on Saturday night.

Yup. Donskoi scores in OT to win it for the Sharks.

Regardless of the win, I still don't think the Sharks can skate with the Penguins. When the Sharks play dump and chase and keep the puck in Pittsburgh's zone, they seem to have a much better chance.

Pittsburgh missed on a couple of 2 on 1 breakaways that they normally score on. And those breakaways were Pittsburgh overtaking the Sharks defense on a own zone takeaway, not getting an odd man rush from a turnover in the neutral zone.

I'd love to see the Sharks win The Cup. However, the Pens have too much speed.

Game 4

James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica played the National Anthem. I didn't think I would like it, but it was great. That ended up being the high point for the Sharks, though.

Pittsburgh leads the series 3-1.

Game 5 becomes an elimination game for the Sharks in Pittsburgh Thursday night.

Speed and discipline over playing hard.

Obviously the Sharks are a very good team to get to the finals. But the Penguins are playing real good hockey.

For non-hockey fans games may seem like chaos but Pittsburgh has been putting on a clinic during their run. Game 5 should be worth watching by anyone with some interest. Pittsburgh has to be the favorite to wrap it up at home.

This has proven true. I only caught bits and pieces of Game 4, but the Sharks won out against St. Louis and other western opponents that weren't especially quick. They were completely unprepared for that level of intensity in the first two games and don't have what it takes to come back.

I looks like the Pens found themselves their future goalie. I was a Fluery fan but this Murray kid is solid.

The Pens polished off the Rangers, Capitals and Lightning at home - look for that trend to continue on Thursday in Pittsburgh.

The Pens took it.

Congratulations Pittsburgh.

The off-season should be interesting. The Stamkos bidding war is officially on. As much as I want him to remain a Bolt, I still think he'll end up in Toronto.

Can't wait for next season.

I'm bummed the Pens didn't win it at home. It's great I'm sure for teams to win titles, but I always find it a bummer when it doesn't happen in front of partisan fans.

But happy Pittsburgh took it down!
