And on giving him a chance, the latest episode of Ancient Aliens on the History Channel is excellent. It is about the Next Humans and it is only partially about Aliens/Alien Tech, it mostly covers CURRENT and upcoming advancements in medicine and technology that is going to advance our species dramatically in the next few decades.

I did start watching this, about 10 minutes worth so far. I can only take the narrator's voice in small segments. More to come on that when I'm finished.

1.) It doesn't have to be. My personal opinion is that many of the unidentified objects we see in the skies now are human craft that we have developed here on earth. However, I do believe they were able to reverse engineer this technology from knowledge outside this planet.

 

2.) There have been some really good TV shows document the case. The former SYFY series Paranormal Witness did an excellent one on the incident. Many other TV UFO shows have portrayed Rendelsham as well with commentary and testimony from the witness'. I'm sure there are other documentaries and youtube videos as well I will have to find some.

 

On #1 I have said it here before and to echo dolamite UFO means unidentified, not alien. Most sightings/cases have logical explanations but even government officials will tell you that in a small percentage of cases even the government can't explain it (and if I may add to it) aliens intelligence may be the best bet going for many of those sightings.

 

On #2 Unsealed Alien Files - may be on Netflix - has a quick review of it but I just watched an episode of UFOs: The Untold Stories on Destination that was excellent. It will make you a believer. The series is new, you should set your DVR up to record them all.

I still stick to my premise that in general for many, including all of these people developing/selling shows such as the ones listed here, use "UFO" to mean "alien."

 

I'm a huge astronomy buff. As a matter of fact, there's no subject I would rather teach or study. But I have not come across anything in any of my personal studies that I've thought proved the existence of aliens.

How is it semantics? I would love to have a true conversation about this topic, but I simply don't understand why some feel that any unidentified object in the sky is thought to be the result of extraterrestrial life. As I don't jump to that conclusion, I am being open-minded.

If you watch enough of these presentations the experts always tell you exactly that. However, in the MoD's case there are tens of thousands of reports, these presentations normally only present the top 1% of those cases. Or put another way, the cases where it seems more likely than not that it is Alien so I think they work from that default position.

Since mountainref has not posted in this thread, I am starting to think there might be some truth here. Credibility stays intact until he posts that he believes it.

I've watched many of these TV programs about Ancient Aliens, abductions, sightings or close encounters, and the one thing I notice is how they usually don't use anyone to tell the other side of the story or a possible logical answer. They have very slanted one sided views of this topic. However, I understand that the other route wouldn't be as exciting and would have less viewership. So in the end it's a business decision.

A fellow by the name of White has debunked much of the Ancient Alien myths with videos he has made. I watched one on youtube not too long ago. It is titled "Debunking Ancient Aliens", or something similar to that, I don't remember precisely.

 

UFO's are a fact. We all have seen things that we can't explain or understand. But I've always been of the opinion that there's still logical natural answers to these phenomenons. But aliens are a different matter altogether. SETI has been searching for extraterrestrial intelligence for many years but have yet to hear anything. There's a good reason for that. There's most likely nothing to hear.

They often beg the Government for info and normally get stuff like "We are not aware of any unusual activity in the area of blah blah blah" only the investigators will have radar information showing there was physically something there which was also confirmed by eyewitness testimony. Or put another way, the radar backs up the eyewitnesses yet the Government plays dumb.

 

I don't want to get lost in this point other than to point out your blanket statement about a lack of logic or one sided reporting is anything but the truth in many of the high quality documentaries available on UFOs.

Could it possible be that the sightings or radar info may be of something involving top secret military stuff that they have to play dumb about? I've read several books about the Roswell incident and when all was said and done it turned out the government played dumb due to a top secret experiment called Project Mogel.

 

I still believe that UFO incidents actually have of-this-earth or astronomical causes. However, it's virtually impossible to get to the bottom of every UFO sighting or perceived paranormal occurrences. Some things are simply unexplainable. That doesn't mean there's not an earthly rational explanation, though.

And let's not forget the former Canadian Minister of Defense, Paul Hellyer who says that "a “cabal” of world government leaders has covered up proof that aliens exist." Also, if you look at the Cometa Report commissioned by the French Government (that actually was meant to be transparent) it came to one conclusion that the US Government is hiding information on UFOs. Not to mention countless high ranking government officials that have come forward claiming UFOs are real and they have been threatened by the Government to never talk about it or else.

 

You have to ask yourself why would all these high ranking Government Officials from many countries come forward and lie about having first hand knowledge of the existence of UFOs and Extraterrestrials?

The bolded part baffles me. How do we know that something cannot be explained? Just because we haven't found an explanation for it yet does not mean that there isn't one.
