Danville Admirals Final Grade: B

 

Danville is back to being Danville going 12-2, only losing in the regular season to Boyle County and then losing in the Semi-Finals to Newport Central Catholic in a tight 15-7 game.

 

Danville put up solid wins against Rockcastle County, Lexington Christian, Corbin and Somerset.

 

There are no bad losses as losing to Boyle Co and NCC is ever anything to be ashamed of.

 

I give the Danville Ads a solid B and they were a TD away from an A, IMO.

 

What Grade do you give the Admirals and why?

I have to give the Admirals an A. I didn't expect them to be as good as they ended up being. Expectations were low and it still took some time for some folks(myself included) to believe that Danville had what it took to make a deep run in the playoffs. I can't remember when I hopped on the Danville train but I know @Wireman was on that train all season. Danville combined an explosive offense with a stout defense and face opponents fits all season. They gave NCC all they wanted in the state semis and as has been stated Coach Clevenger has gotten the Admirals back on the high school football landscape. I have to give them an A. They had a great season despite not winning state or making the state championship game. No one saw that coming last season. Except for the Admirals.

It was a really nice year for the Ads and the semi-final game against NCC could have gone either way. No shame in losing to Title Town Rival Boyle either.

 

The future looks bright in Danville.

Give them an A, they hired a very good coach once Harp left.
