OK, what the heck is the purpose of this? And could they couldn't have picked a worse location being near 1-75 and the bridges. Would have been quite a mess had these animals gotten on that freeway and somehow bolted toward that bridge area. Is Covington so broke they cannot afford to cut the grass at Goebel? Running of the goats....really?

I've got to tell you though, when I saw the title thread I was envisioning a bunch of guys my age or older donning our head bands, tank tops and shorty shorts.

Goats Update:

The last two goats were found and captured about an hour ago and are back now safely in their home in Goebel Park. A total of 7 goats got loose turning Covington's First Annual Running of the Goats into quite a fiasco, but a handful of dedicated citizens diligently stayed with the search until all goats were found, captured, and returned safely to their home. Most were located in rough wooded areas in lower Devou Park which has now spawned conversation about ultimately having goats clean up those areas as well.

First and last?

Apparently they are in discussion about trying again next year at a 2nd attempt at having a first successful running, but only after volunteers are better instructed as to how to keep the goats on the parade course, and not running wild. We'll see how that goes. Stay tuned.

There seems to be a crazy comical farce of a movie writing itself with this one. I wonder if those inclined to write such a movie are already being inspired.
