It's still valid to suggest then, that as Trinity performed much better against a common opponent, and SK lost to Lafayette by two scores, then it is very likely Trinity would have beaten SK had they played.

You've lost me. A previous poster stated SK could go toe to toe with Trinity. I used Lafayette as an example that last year SK couldn't have competed with Trinity,since they were a common opponent. I wasn't putting Lafayette down...I feel like your trying to defend Lafayette, and there's no need to. I wasn't saying anything negative about Lafayette.

I never once debated the fact that Trinity was better than SK last year. What I took exception to is the way they were being compared. I firmly believe the gap is closing it may be slower than some like but I do believe the gap is closing. What does Trinity have coming back this year?

0 The last time 3 times they have played SK didn't have a team that could compete with T plus kids playing both ways. But now SK has been platooning for several years. SK could give Trinity a game now if they ever meet again in the playoffs. SK has depth to go toe to toe with the Rocks! Guarantee that!

Maybe the gap is closing, now they only lose by 30 and score a meaningless TD late. Bottom line they still lose. But since Marksberry will NEVER voluntarily play Trinity the only way we'll ever know for sure is if SK doesn't choke at some point in the playoffs and they meet then.

Well, assuming they beat whoever the number two in Trinity's district (probably Ballard) then they'll have the chance to show their improvement in the quarterfinals. Either we'll get a good game and SK will prove themselves, or we'll have proof that they are not what people have claimed. However it turns out, I look forward to it.

What Trinity has coming back: They lost the QB, several of the standout defense players, and Rodjay Burns. However, they kept a good number of line and skill guys. It is worth noting that the JV Rocks were undefeated and will provide new blood.

SK never has been and never will be on the same level as Trinity and no team in NKY will be either. It's a simple numbers game and the math will never work in favor of public schools. Anyone who believes otherwise is delusional.

Trinity is the top dog of Kentucky football. Trying to compare any team to them isn't fair. SK has a solid schedule and are set up to make another decent run in the playoffs. Everyone needs to stop hating on the Pioneers cause of one guy. It's pretty silly.

Couldn't agree more. I am a big SK fan and have seen coach Marksberry take a program from nothing to something. Looking forward to another great season from the pioneers.
