Leicester City Wins Premier League Title

Featured Replies

Chelsea comes back from the dead and ties Tottenham 2-2. Foxes clinch for the first time in their history. I think they were 5000-1 to win the title before the season started.

Hah. Classic Spurs.

But serious congrats to LCFC and the folks in Leicester. I can't believe that this team is going to be playing in Europe next season, much less as champions of the richest domestic league on the planet.

LCFC was 5000-1 to win the title.

The Philadelphia 76ers were about 1000-1 to win the NBA title.

A few years ago a bookmaker was giving odds on Elvis Presley being found alive and even that was only getting about 2000-1.

Just amazing. This team nearly got relegated 12 months ago. Now they're champions.

VERY chippy game. Something like 9 yellow cards called against the Spurs, and it spilled over into the tunnel after the game.

I watched most of it. Dickens would have called it a tale of two halves.

Two of the (at least) three teams that will represent the EPL in the Champions' League group stage next season will be Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

That's awesome.

To give some perspective, the odds against the Cincinnati Reds to win the World Series are something like 60-1.

Can I assume that the usual players are teams like MC, MU, Arsenal, Chelsea?

Spurs completely collapsed in the last 20 minutes and then frustration set in (understandably so). But that goal by Hazard to tie it 2-2 was absolutely amazing. Fantastic finish.

Manchester City has been a recent addition since their billionaire investors have gotten involved, as Chelsea were a few years before that.

But for about the last 20 years, yeah, you could just pencil in some combination of United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. Newcastle or Leeds made the occasional appearance but they were few and far between.

Everybody I know was a Chelsea fan today. I didn't know how much hate is out there for the Spurs.

I'd never root for Chelsea. Was hoping Spurs could pull it out today and LCFC could've clinched it in front of the home fans Saturday.

I don't have any Spurs hate... but I do enjoy laughing at their perennial failure to hang on. Still, no shame in second. Straight through to the group stages in the Champions Leage next season.

Hard to believe you can lose 4 games out of 36 and finish second.

I missed the second half, got home and couldn't believe the comeback.

First non team USA men's or women's game I've intentionally watched...:lol2:

I don't know that it was hate for Spurs as much as it was hope for Leicester.

I don't follow closely enough to judge that. But they did show a pretty ugly side for much of the game. Sorry - fixture.

It's also a "match". But I call them "games" too, so don't listen to me.
