Brooks from CC is a baseball stud but this thread is about freshman. Brooks and Gangwish play for the same At The Yard summer ball team. Talk about a deadly duo. Gangwish is undefeated on the hill for the SK JV and throws low 80's with a nasty slider and change up. Another good freshman is Farfsing playing SS for the JV Pioneers. Gangwish and Farfsing won't get the props though for 2 reasons. 1. They don't play for Beechwood, Highlands, or CovCath and the BGP site belongs to those schools. 2. Everybody hates UK #1 so if kids go to SK then most BGPers discount those Pioneer players. Come out and watch Gangwish pitch or Farfsing play SS. You BGPers will see 2 of the best freshman in NKY.

Good stuff.

Forgot about Hunter Gribble from Holmes. Bats leadoff. The kid is lightning fast and has a slick glove at SS. I'm talking amazing speed.

Cord - I will give you Odom and Castleman. The rest are middle of the road kids at best. Small school playing small competition.

And you just told Clyde he didn't know anything about NKY baseball. LOL. You can change your BGP name, but the childish wording remains.

Don't know who you are but obviously you're a Beechwood guy. I wasn't saying anything bad about Clyde or calling him out. Just really surprised he doesn't know who Schwalbach is. He has a huge bat and a slick glove. It was just sarcasm. Sorry if I offended you Clyde.

Clyde - If you don't know who Schwalbach is then you don't have a clue about the young kids in high school ball in NKY. He is the best player in HHS program besides their Senior pitcher.

Please send my apologies to the Schwalbachs for not knowing who their son is. I get to see a lot of players each year but I don't notice or remember all especially by name.

You're saying he is better than Ethan Doty and Drew Rom?

He has a very high ceiling, a very good athlete and will eventually be one of the best to play at HHS. He's a very good football player as well.

So I assume he means that the kid has the potential to be better.

Different players defensively but, at the plate, yes. Kid is a pure hitter and hits a ton at that.

I'd agree with this for sure. He's a fierce competitor as well as a good kid. Has some nice genes as well, Dad played ball in college and mom was a hoopster at NKU.

I will respectfully disagree on a couple of counts. First of all, Beechwood is perennially one of the best four or five teams in Northern Kentucky, and I don't see the "small school playing a small schedule" with them in baseball, although I would say that is generally true in football and basketball. Secondly, I have seen Trusty catch a number of times, including a couple of weeks ago when he went 4-4 and threw out every base runner that stole on him in a JV game. He looked a level above JV that day.

Beechwood's freshman class is as good as any school in NKY this year.

Exactly what I was talking about cord of wood. Threads like this one are the reason most people I talk to stay off bgp now. Obnoxious.

I think I would even go so far as to say they are the best right now .... Not familiar enough with CovCath frosh, so I could be wrong. But if I was a varsity coach looking at my pipeline, I think I would take the group at Highlands because they are so young. Cramer and Schwalbach are both still just 14 and have a lot of maturity ahead of them .... I think their progress curves are a little steeper than other kids who are already 16. Baioni has to be be happy with what he has coming up.

Agreed.
