"Bandit" Trans Ams are BACK!

...sort of.

"Bandit" Trans Am resurrected | Fox News

Built on a Camaro SS chassis with all of the styling cues of the Original, these 840hp Screamers will set you back around $115,000. The production run will be held to 77 and each is signed and numbered by Burt Reynolds.

Out of my price range.

Very nice, and nice they kept the "implied" Pontiac badging.

I bought a new '77 Trans Am my first year out of college. It was silver in color. Cost was $7,800.

I kept it until 1984 when I bought another new Trans Am, this time a black one.

Something similar has been around for a little while.

Nothing more than a kit car that won't hold value.

Rousch, Saleen and (some) Shelby's are basically the same thing...after market conversions. They seem to hold their value pretty well.

If I was going to spend $115,000 on a car, this would NOT be the one.

Agreed, but I'd bet their are 77 people that will. Most of the people buying this car have a pile of "Car Money" just laying around.

I had a 79 red one w/ the gold eagle on the hood.

840hp is just obscene.

I had a buddy with that same color combo...the Red and Gold looked great together.

I agree. Call me when they can get 900hp crammed onto that little unibody frame and I'll check it out.
