March 23, 201610 yr Last night's takeaway is that Trump won all of Arizona's 58 delegates with only 47 percent of the vote. AZ is a winner-take-all state. For what it's worth, Dems have no winner-take-all states. According to 538.com, the Trump train has 96 percent of its target delegates (not total delegates). Sounds to me like the GOP has a real conundrum on its hands: Deny Trump in Cleveland and blow up the party, or placate Trump in Cleveland and blow up the election?
March 24, 201610 yr I thought I saw thet the Repubs changed the rules to free up the delegates on the first vote. Sometimes you wonder if there is a deal to dump both Trump and HRC (via indicment) and start over on both sides. Biden vs Romney, anyone?

March 24, 201610 yr Author I thought I saw thet the Repubs changed the rules to free up the delegates on the first vote. Sometimes you wonder if there is a deal to dump both Trump and HRC (via indicment) and start over on both sides. Biden vs Romney, anyone? I thought I read somewhere that the Republican Party never had the rule in place that delegates must vote as elected in the first ballot. I believe there was a convention in the past that put that rule in for that convention but it was not a permanent rule. Personally, I think it is a big, big mistake by the GOP to not hold delegates to their candidate on the first ballot. It makes all these primaries a farce.
March 24, 201610 yr Can somebody tell me, has Trump won the majority in any state thus far? Because I think what he's basically done is win the plurality vote. Yes, you can look at it and say he's won more than any other 1 particular candidate (looking at total votes, not delegates), but on the flip side, you can just as easily say that more people have voted against him than for him.
March 24, 201610 yr If Cruz replaces Trump most Trump supporters will be ok because he is still considered an outsider. The problem arises if they select someone else besides those two. It will be interesting.
