Mayfield vs. Caldwell County @ Alliance Bowl

Oh come on. I think he's referring to the fact it would be an upset, like was the case in the 1998 title game...

You would be hard pressed from my experience to find Ads and Cards fans that dont pull for each other outside of one week late in the season, tremendous respect exists.

I agree:thumb:

Hopefully we can meet one more time against the Ads in late November before the new 6-class system moves the two storied programs into different classes...maybe we could get the ADS down here for a bowl game or meet every couple of years on a rotating basis.

GO CARDS :fight:

Yeah, I think the fan base is there, I would love Danville to be in our Alliance Bowl, would be perfect!!

Man, if teams like Milan, TN and Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic come on board for this bowl game, it could be a big time event!

I too will miss the Danville fans...

I doubt that will happen. Danville currently hosts their own bowl game on the opening weekend of the season. Its a really big draw and they usually get some quality teams from the Central Kentucky area.

The Mayfield-Danville days may very well be over...which is unfortunate for the Ads!

I've said this before and I'll say it again: If you had seen Danville play all season in 1998, you would realize this wasn't that big of an upset. In my opinion there have been several Danville teams not make it to Louisville that would have easily handled that years version of the Admirals.

I think the Caldwell-Danville game gets tossed in the upset pile on the basis of name recognition; people know Danville and don't know Caldwell County.

For the record, I really liked that Caldwell County team in 1998.

I had not seen Danville play that year but I didn't remember too many people picking Caldwell to win that game, which is why I still call it an upset.
