I agree with this and would even say that South Laurel should be ahead of them too. The way that game ended was tragic. South Laurel was the better team.

How is NewCath 5 after losing by less in similar fashion as Doss and pretty much the same as BG?

 

BG was dominating Dunbar when they forgot that game is played for 4 quarters. That game was Dunbar's toughest game of the tourney. Followed by Mercer County and then Doss. Doss outscored Dunbar in the second half but their slow start did them in.

I understand that but there were a lot of controversial calls that impacted the game in the 4th quarter. They play 10 times and South Laurel wins 8 times. Just giving my 2 cents though. Your argument definitely holds water better than mine though. :thumb:

I don't agree with the rankings but it also doesn't matter. Congrats to all teams that made and I think the best team won the tournament :thumb:

Let's see your list

After having seen some of these teams play multiple times and others only seeing them at Rupp, ranking them after the State Tourney.

 

1. Mercer County - I still think this was the best team in the State, unfortunately they gave one away when it counted the most.

 

2. Bowling Green - This was the second best team in the State, and just as Mercer, they gave one away when it counted the most.

 

3. Dunbar - Although they won, can't deny that, very good team they were the recipients of some fortunate breaks, which a team has to have to win it all, but not the best team in my opinion.

 

4. Christian County - What a time to have a bad game in the Sweet 16, but this was one of the top 4 if not the top 2 teams in the tourney.

 

5. Newport Catholic - was very impressed with this team, and could have very well be playing on Sunday as well.

 

6. Trinity - All it takes is one bad shooting performance and you get beat. But over the course of the season this team was very good.

 

7. South Laurel - This team was better than I expected. The big boy inside is nice.

 

8. Taylor County - Was a much better team in Lexington than I seen around Christmas Time.

 

9. Doss - Still can't believe this team made it to Sunday.

 

10. Lawrence County - Better than I thought

 

11. Mason County - Wish I had got to see this team at full strength

 

12. South Oldham - Again one bad shooting night and your done.

 

13. Owensboro Catholic - This team was much better than they shown at Rupp

 

14. Murray - Lucky to get out of the 1st

 

15. Elliott County - How bad was the 16th region?

 

16. Buckhorn - Good thing every region has to have a representative.

Mercer County wasn't better than Bowling Green IMO.

 

South Laurel was better than Trinity, Taylor County and Christian County.

 

Dunbar made those breaks. That's why they won it all and was the best team there.

That's the great thing about opinions, yours is no better than mine. Again, in my opinion just because Dunbar won it all does not mean they were the best team. Duke won the NCAA last year, but no way were they the best team in the country. Just saying.
