I don't think there is too many head to head games with the teams. I may be wrong but I don't see it being too many.

Winning % is tough to seed on because of the quality of teams that they play.

Isn't the Sweet 16 Bracket randomly decided in January/February by drawing regions? At that point, nobody knows the teams that will win the region & earn a bid to the Sweet 16.

It is incorrect that it is harder or will cause more controversy. MOST states for HS athletics AND all college AND all professional seed... because it's fairer, bottom line. Ohio seeds AND has divisions and it's a far better draw for crowds and creates better games. This is just one of those backward, stubborn things that when others from outside ky look in at Kentucky it verifies the stereotypes they've heard about the state.

This may be the dumbest statement in this entire thread. Because the sweet 16 doesn't seed, it verifies the stereotypes about KY???

 

I don't know how many coaches I have talked to in other states that wished they had KY style state tournament.

Simply solved, have all the head coaches on a call, seed the tournament with them on the call, should take less than an hour.

 

This way if a team played just a brutal schedule and win % was down, they could fight for a better seed, of all other 15 regions felt it was deserved.

We do it every year with Middle School Wrestling, not one issue.

The only time it will be a discussion point if a few teams are just really close in all the parameters, if they cant decide amongst themselves thats what the KHSAA is for they will be on the call too.

I'd argue middle school wrestling and the state high school basketball tournament are slightly different animals.
