March 6, 201610 yr Nice to see a team, who struggles for so much of the year get on a run like this. The Governors(18-17, 7-9 O.V.C.) played another good game and took out another conference opponent, who had a better that had a better record then they did. UT Martin(19-14, 10-6 O.V.C.0 was one big win away from winning game number 20 on the season. Leading the winners was,Freshman Jared Savage(Bowling Green,Ky)with 24. 18 above his season average. Leading UT Martin was,Twymond Howard(Pearl, MS) with 24 points.
March 6, 201610 yr This is the problem with conference tournaments. Then same can be said for NCAA Tourney. DUB C!
March 6, 201610 yr This is the problem with conference tournaments. Certainly seems to diminish the regular season standings

March 6, 201610 yr Chris Jung on Twitter: "@Deadspin UT-Martin player definitely threw a punch at Austin Peay assistant during OVC Tournament title celebration https://t.co/Zw68npjov2" To paraphrase Chris Rock, "I'm not saying he shoulda threw a punch...but I understand"
March 6, 201610 yr What's the problem? It rewards a team that sucked the entire season but got hot for 3 games. It nullifies the regular season results.
March 6, 201610 yr Then same can be said for NCAA Tourney. DUB C! Theoretically, the NCAA tourney should be filled with teams that have performed for the entire season - not just one weekend in Nashville.
March 6, 201610 yr It rewards a team that sucked the entire season but got hot for 3 games. It nullifies the regular season results. Agreed to a certain extent. But this is my favorite time of year for college hoops. I love watching the "mid-major tourneys" just to see these Cinderella stories. And what's wrong with including a dominant regular-season mid-major team who stumbles in their tourney in the Dance at the expense of a large conference also-ran?
March 6, 201610 yr Theoretically, the NCAA tourney should be filled with teams that have performed for the entire season - not just one weekend in Nashville. Ah I see what you're saying but it's March madness for a reason. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Austin Peay's run this weekend .
