CovCath/Glen Este Scrimmage

Featured Replies

Can anyone give us a report? I have two different reports from people that attended, one told me CCH looked OK and the other told me Glen Este dominated the scrimmage beating CCH every which way but loose.

Anyone?

CCH came out flat.. Glen Este was excited and ready to go... Cov Cath Had many kids sitting out because of injury and sickness... It may have been a different ball game with them

CovCath did come out very flat, but did OK, considering the number of kids out to injuries and sickness, as DRH70 reported.. I counted three starting O-lineman out and one playing out of position, plus the only starting receiver that played today was Bovard, or at least that is what one of the starting O-lineman who was out injured today, told me after the game. Just glad the injuries and sickness was this week, and not next week, when the Colnels open up against Boone.....

Ryle fans, you will have a very, very, very tough game on your hands come the 26th against Glen Este. GE has a running back that is not only a huge kid, but is as tough as he is big #32. What a stud......

This game was U-G-L-Y! A lot of turnovers by CovCath, much of which I'm sure is due to the 5 or 6 injuries and sicknesses to starters. Glen Este looked fast and intense.

BTW Bovard was also sick with a stomach ailment which is why he had to sit out a lot.

The starting center was out sick, so they moved the starting guard to the center position, and thus all the poor snaps between the QB and center....

Thought he wasn't feeling that well, as he and most of the offense looked very sluggish and slow today, compared to last Saturday.. Being sick for a couple of days during the week, can drain you pretty quickly even if you feel better on game day.....

How did the defense look? Were there many players out on that side of the ball as well?

Defense was a bit slow in the first half, but stepped it up in the second half. At least one starting linebacker was out with an injury.

What was the score of the scrimmage???????

There were six startes that were injured or sick.

Dan Heath

Andy Schulte

Will Giesen

Peter Sutton

Jace Ganshirt

Alex Wise

Kurt Bovard( Was still sick, but played.)

Injuries do make a difference, don't they? Glen Este is a tough bunch.

Glen Este was both big and fast, I dont know how ryle will be able to handle them. I would of liked to see this scrimmage with both teams at full health.

From what I saw, GE would be a top 3 or 4 team in NKY.

I just think that it's kind of funny when last year some were saying that GE was a very good football team yet most on here talked like CovCath and Highlands were better than GE, a tier 3 team from Cincy. This year's GE team is very tough but not nearly as good as last year's team IMO from what I saw today. GE will be a very tough opening opponent for Ryle, which is good for us. You get better by playing a tough non-district schedule. Injuries are no excuse for us or any other team.

The first half the teams traded off offense ten plays, defense ten plays, for about 3 series. The junior varsity team played during the halftime of the varsity game. The second half was down and distance. Cov Cath fumbled 2 consecutive series because of the inexperienced line. The final score of the seconf half was Glen Este 7-Cov cath 3.

Is that 7 scores to 3 scores or 7 points to 3 points??????
