CinBell Fioptic help

Featured Replies

If you have Cincinnati Bell Fioptic TV service, please check ESPN2 channel 529. I'm watching the Kent State/Akron game and getting a standard definition feed(black bars at top and bottom of screen) instead of my usual high definition feed. Are you seeing the same?

So everybody else who has CinBell Fioptic TV service is experiencing the same issue right now? (ESPN 2 HD coming in as standard definition instead of high definition)

Looks like it finally got fixed now. Last time this happened it was almost a week before it was switched back to HD.

Just called CinBell, got someone who could actually speak English pretty well and she admitted they know about the problem, have had quite a few issues this week and are also having problems with ON DEMAND feature as well. But she assures me "engineers are at work right now to solve the problems". Oh, I'm so sure.

Yes, I have the same problems you are describing. Earlier today I reconfigured the way all of the wires from the wall to the fioptics box and then to the TV. I was just trying to do a better job of hiding the wires. I had to unplug everything. So I figured I had messed up a setting on my TV until I saw this thread. Very relieved to find out it is CBF problem and not mine.

We do not deal with Cincinnati Bell Fioptic TV or Direct TV - not good reviews. Sticking with Time Warner and have no issues

CBF had a lot of issues when we first started using them. Over the last year they have been MUCH better.

We have had fi optics for a good 2 years now only lately have we had any problems..

I had similar issues when we had TW as well. Had TW cable service, CinBell internet and landline service. Wanted to reduce our expenses and was having a fit with TW service so we decided to go with bundling all with CinBell. Very good price the first year, not so much the second. Now I could switch to another TV service and drop Fioptics but I was told my internet and phone bill would INCREASE. They have me by the Rocky Mountain Oysters and I helped them do it.

Just curious, did you see a huge increase in your bill after the first year?

Yes but we called complained and got it down closers to what it was

Sister in law moved from cable to Direct TV - was not happy. Switched to fiber optics. Still not happy

Now thinking of changing back to cable
