Big Pasta looking good today. Both Votto and Bruce tried to bunt vs the shift in their first at bats!

They have been doing it a lot this spring.

Great so by game three one of them will blow a hammy trying to run to first.

These guys are not paid to bunt.

Hard to believe we are close to opening day and this is post 18.

Going to be a long long summer.

Cody Reed is going to be really really good.

Have been reading a lot of good things about Cody Reed. Do you think he makes the rotation, or do the Reds keep him in the minors? I think it'd be best to keep him in the minors for at least several months to keep him under team control for longer.

He will start in the minors. Doesn't need to be long for them to get that extra year.

Guys are paid to get on base. Line drives or hard ground balls into the teeth of a shift are just plain stupid. If they give you 1B and 1-1, take it until they stop it.

He's just trying to get someone to respond to that nonsense.

If they wait until May he remains under team control for another year, I think. That's a no brainer.

Yep...

Sounds like Stephenson might make the team initially. He's struggled a bit this spring.

If I were calling the shots (and I certainly am not), I'd take it nice & slow with the talented young pitchers (Stephenson, Reed, etc) and with Bailey/Lorenzen coming back from injury.

I've seen a few videos of Votto. Seems much more carefree this year as compared to past years.

One thing I'm very interested to see early on....Bruce's bunting. They've made quite a big deal of the fact that he's been working on it a lot this Spring in games.

Does Billy Hamilton have to make the team out of spring training?

If you're asking if he has options I believe the answer would be yes.
