Really curious to see how this spring season unfolds before our eyes. I have this strange feeling that this team while not very good, will not be as terrible as people think because of their pitching depth.

The biggest concern for me as a fan is the leadoff spot and continuing to be in love with Billy Hamilton. Just do not think the guy is ever going to hit major league pitching and when your team has an anemic offense you cannot continue to play a guy because of his glove.

Well on the plus side when he hits .200 this year it's not really going to matter either way. Then we will know he stinks for 100% sure and move on.

I'm the same, cautiously optimistic about this team and trajectory. The pitching depth in the organization is very very good. The pitching in a few years will be able to be an above average to great rotation. Only problem is I don't see the offense improving much besides adding Winker to the mix in the coming years.

I am really going to need a roster this year!

Here is a cheatsheet for what I see from Louisville last year and the new players added in the trades.

Pitching rotation

Desclafani- top line pitcher

Inglasies- Best stuff ( Nasty)but high pitch counts

Moscot- 7-1 with Louisville, better ERA and WHIP than Stephenson, lpitched well in Cincinnati last year

Sanchez= retread until Bailey gets there in May. Not pitched in Majors for 3 years but pitched well in Puerto Rico this winter as injuries healed,

Cody Reed- 95 mph lefty from the Cueto trade.

Also Lorenzen- didn't have a Quality start after all star break, big time fitness routine in off season, may start off great but I feel will taper off with season

Finnegan, pitched well in September, needs the change up to be starter. Otherwise he is a set up man

Cingrani- set up man

Sampson- told to be reliever

Jon Lamb- not impressed with him. Too wild

Robert Stephenson- needs one more year- questions about shoulder strain.

Bailey- should come back strong.

Caleb Cotham- longshot ex Vandy pitcher- pretty good from Yankees along with Rookie Davis for Chapman

Bullpen

Blake Wood can back up Hoover for closer if he fails. Jumbo Diaz throws too many fast balls with no movement ( albeit 100 mph) As mentioned before Cingrani, Finnegan will be set up along with Diaz, ( we will need a 6th inning guy with such a young staff) Matheus, Villereal, Parra, bye.

Regulars-

Peraza, Schebler, Cave, ( all newbies who can hit and run/steal) and I really like Tyler Holt in center when Cozart, Hamilton, and Bruce struggle. Peraza singled today, stole 2nd and 3rd, came home on SF. I honestly think Duvall is slightly better than Lutz, Rodriguez, Duran, but like Schebler and Cave better until Winker gets here. Need Mesoraco healthy. If Mesoraco and Bruce return to form, Reds will surprise some people. Oh Yeah, I heard these guys Phillips and Votto are okay too.

They have lost a million ST games in a row now. They stink already. Lorenzen is having and MRI on his elbow.

Cody Reed is going to be really really good.

Nice to see that Joey cares more about acting like Lebron then working on his game.

Big Pasta looking good today. Both Votto and Bruce tried to bunt vs the shift in their first at bats!
