Hot Seat Positions vs. Hot Positions Needing a Seat

Featured Replies

Rumors are rumors but this is also the time of year for speculation. Which school might be looking for a new coach and why? Which coach might be looking for a new program?

I've heard that Holmes has been reaching out to coaches across the state for the last 6 weeks or so.

I would doubt that's a "hot seat" situation. They knew going in that Listerman wouldn't be there that long. Would be a nice situation to go into though.

Listerman originally intended to retire from teaching/coaching this spring.

However, he has elected to remain in the Covington School system one additional year - I would think with the intention of coaching the Dawgs again in 2016-17.

Covington Holmes is a high profile position i would think? Great job for a young a fiery coach. Who would be some prospects for that role? I know Holmes has had strong success competing in the 9th....

Listerman isn't out of that spot yet. Don't speculate until it's open (which will be Coach Ls decision).

Well speculation is the point of all of these forums. Furthermore there has to be prime considerations for potential open roles. So let me rephrase.... Who would be qualified?

Well that's fair. In a qualified candidate here is who will be mentioned in the Holmes opening:

Sullivan - Cooper: no way he leaves as his program and situation is better where he is currently.

Snapp - Newport: good fit as he has done great with less. But may be too abrasive for administration.

Grammer - Grant County: good young coach but would he leave a winnable 8th to go to a tough district and region?

K. Listerman - Highlands: would he follow his old man?

Brannen - Walton: good coach but I don't think he fits at Holmes.

These are just the head coaches in NKY I think would be considered by others to be candidates. My pick is:

Mercer County's head coach. May be able to bring in talent and 9th is easier than the 12th in my opinion.

I think it's time Harrison County gives the boot to Larry Kendall

Who would take that job?

You would be surprised!! I'm not at liberty to speak on it but if you listen hard enough it's not hard to hear possible candidates

I'm assuming that one you speak of is already in this region.

One can assume what they want I suppose :). But we know what assuming can do. :thumb:
