Mason County defeated the Panthers 77-66 on Dec. 21 at the Fieldhouse.

Thoughts on Thursday's game? Who wins and why?

Evenly matched teams but the Panthers are playing just a bit better at this point in time.

Augusta 62

Mason County 58

The panthers seem to be playing some very good ball right now and look a lot more disciplined on the floor, And I truly think this bunch of seniors will not be denied, I'll take Augusta by 4 in a back and forth battle. Hope we can all get there "Mason & Augusta" by 3:30 to get a parking spot and seat,,

People thought Tuesday night was packed wait till tomorrow night.. I think Mason County has the better athletes while Augusta is playing really hard and very disciplined as of late. Could be another classic to go along with the parody this matchup has had of the past few years. That being said there are 3 senior starters on this Royals team that will carry them to a victory in this one.

Royals - 71

Panthers - 70

I know I myself will be leaving early to get my parking spot.

Augusta wins a close one. Makes free throws down the stretch.

I think that FTs will be the deciding factor (and the number of foul calls). Mason is not all that deep. If they get in foul trouble at all the favor swings heavily to Augusta.

I think this will be a very good game but being in Bracken County (I know it's not Augusta), the crowd will be in Augusta's favor. I look for Augusta to pull out a close win.

Mason County fans best get there at 4 to get a seat, because know the Augusta fans will be lined up to fill entire gym not long after that. Supposed to be snowing and extremely windy around that time, with wind chill temps in the teens.:D

This is a home game for Augusta. They've played so many games on that floor and will have the fans to back them up.

Would think 100% of the pressure is on Mason County, another loss to Augusta in districts over a 4 year period(wouldn't this be the third if that happened) and you think you heard crickets during the season for most games at The Fieldhouse this past season

I am hoping and praying Augusta can pull off this win. Our group of Seniors have earned the right to "go out on top". However this is far from a given. We have to execute, stay close, and hit FTs at the end if we are to win as Mason has the superior athletes just like always.

If they are determined to have the districts at the Igloo, then they should be required to save 1/2 of the gym for each opposing team. Only the top should be free game for both sides. IMO.

I had a former Bracken County coach tell me to get there early in 2014... We were on the smaller side and had to share it with Mason County. Needless to say, Mason fans were not happy when they came in!

There is not a bad seat in that gym! There are no rules stating where fans have to sit to take in a game. The place holds 2000 and although I know there will be loads of people there tonight I don't think they will max out the place. You sit where you can get a seat and enjoy the game. IMHO. Last time it was at the Igloo myself and @Randy Parker stood by a trash can to take in the game. The Igloo is a great place for the district tournament. Instead of nit-picking it to death enjoy it for what it is. A district championship game in a packed house with fans cheering on their respective teams. :thumb:

I say empty the gym after the girls game. Split sessions. Lol I am kidding.
