February 18, 201610 yr Indiana is tied for 2nd in the B1G and ranked 22 in the country, I'd be real surprised. Groce has had some real bad luck with injuries and Illinois is too cheap to buy out the contract. Personally I think Groce has one more year left.

Crean is despised by rich dudes who like IU, and his buy-out dropped last year. I'm on the fence, but it certainly falls into the category of "may open". I love John Groce, but they have a new AD and that is a bad combination when paired with a horrific season. Mike Thomas loved him, but Mike Thomas doesn't live there any longer.

An early NCAA exit could spell doom for Cream. If he gets to the second weekend and loses to someone who is a better seed than IU, then I would think he'd be back. But who knows?
