McNutt has maybe been our second best and most consistent player this year. She is averaging 9.6ppg and about 6rpg. Shooting about 75% FT. She should have been second team but not third or HM is just not justice to this player.

Can't believe Campbell got dissed here. Campbell and Mason are indisputably the best teams with the best players. Jolly and Clos have lead this team and they squeak in on 2nd and 3rd team? Scott has TWO first team? Kramer was out when we played Scott, is this punishment for the loss? Or even worse Montgomery County has TWO girls ahead of the CC girls! And MoCo is terrible, CC destroyed them because our girls are better. Something went wrong in this voting, coaches must feel like they have to spread out their votes. It's disappointing that Clos was so low and Schwarber left off. Shouldn't have happened

Just wow. Not sure you get how this works. Specific games mean nothing. CC girls may be "better" in some opinions, because they play well as a team. Opportunities are created for players because of other players and plays on the floor. But player for player, looking at individual abilities, stats, play...I'd take Cummings, Stapleton, Clephane, Igo, Schultz one on one over Jolly or Clos any day. Absolutely all of these girls are great basketball players and fun to watch and I would never take away from any one of them, because I love to watch each one play, but this list is about individual players. They are nominated and voted upon by coaches that have seen them all play. In their opinions, individually, these are the players that rank where they are placed on this list. Your disappointment at others not even on the list....are you sure they were nominated? That's a gripe with your coach. No need to slam other teams. Some of these players play without a lot of support around them and they still are able to do what they do. All of them have their strengths and weaknesses, but this is saying... overall... player for player... in the opinion of the 10th region coaches... this is the list....these are the girls who got the most votes in descending order for their individual athleticism, abilities, skills, whatever else. Don't discredit them and their hard work this year by saying "our girls are better". They may very well be better as a team and post season will show who comes out on top. I would not doubt we see CC and Mason at the top of the list. You will have your moment. Let these girls have theirs.

That is absolutely not what I said. I merely said I agreed with the list in that one could argue any of those 1st team players listed could go up against any of the lower ones one on one. I am never going to dis any player. I think they all deserve to be on the list as do some who are not. But you cannot attack the ones who did and question where they are based on a game or your notion of your team. Team play is imperative and more important than any one player...that is why it is a team sport. And those team that are successful gelling are most successful. This list is simply the 10th regions coaches opinions of the individual players they have seen this year who were placed on the ballad.

Punished, no. But it should be considered. A good player on a bad team who shoots more should not be given higher accolades over a better player on a good team. Here are the girls stats -

 

Clos - 13.8 pp, 41% fg, 28% 3pt, 63% FT, 3.6 RB

Jolly - 13.7 pp, 42% fg, 37% 3pt, 70% FT, 1.8 RB

Kramer - 9.0 pp, 48% fg, 21% 3pt, 70% FT, 5.0 RB

Igo - 18.4 pp, 43% fg, 25% 3pt, 70% FT, 3.7 RB

Arnett - 16.3 pp, 34% fg, 34% 3pt, 76% FT, 4.4 RB

Clephane - 19.7 pp, 43% fg, 33% 3pt, 64% FT, 4.1 RB

Stapleton - 17.3 pp, 40% fg, 39% 3pt, 75% FT, 3.4 RB

 

There's only ONE thing that stands out for the girls that got higher accolades. Points per game. So despite the fact that the CC girls shut down the MoCo girls when they played (game was never close), because they average less points a game they are voted behind the MoCo girls. And yes - better teams HAVE better players, that's why they beat those teams. There's only five girls on the court. When was the last time a losing team in the nfl or nba had league MVP's?

 

Nothing against the players listed, they all are good and deserve to be on the list. But IMO Campbell should have had girls with higher awards.

Congratulations ! 7 posts in and you're being totally disrespectful of another team and a solid coach who steps in, takes over a program and wins.

 

Just remember karma when it comes home to roost.....
