February 16, 201610 yr Should leadership qualities (or lack thereof) over ride policy? I have never gotten too involved with politics, I vote, but I will admit that I haven't always been an educated voter. With this election, I have watched debates and check this forum out periodically to get insight... The more I watch and read, the more I realize that I don't trust hardly any of these candidates in their ability to Lead. If I were to cast my vote today, I would vote for Kasich because I am not sure he isn't the best "Leader" of them all... yes he is boring at times, but he seems to take the higher ground and wants what is best for people. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Good question. I like boring. Unfortunately I don't think we are in an age where people's ability to lead isnt questioned 24/7 by their opposition. I'm not inpressed by any of the candidates but I am interested to see who wins the election and the narrative our country takes afterwards.

Maybe this is true for a lot of people in a lot of presidential elections, but I think for me it's a matter of who do I like the least and working my way from there. I'm interested to see who wins and the narrative our country takes as well, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I was also a little worried in the direction it could go if one candidate won.
February 17, 201610 yr Speaking to @okie1's original post. If just one candidate started talking about servant leadership in any capacity, my interests would definitely turn to them more.
February 17, 201610 yr God bless who wins because they have no chance to be respected or liked. The last two Presidents have taken awful media beatings. No one should be disrespected like W and Obama have been. This is no doubt a reflection of social media and slanted news stations that prey on an ignorant and gullible population. I get questioning policies and issues. That's how a President should be judged. I abhor the personal attacks.

Leadership qualities are as important as policies in my opinion.
February 17, 201610 yr I agree, the attacks on the last two Presidents have been brutal and ridiculous at times. Leadership qualities are as important as policies in my opinion. I agree, however, if a President is collaborative he/she is selling out or weak. If they are top down they are trying to be king, etc. If i could wade through the rhetoric, then I could decide. Unfortunately wading through it is impossible. A candidate could be reasonable, with a plan and it gets little attention. Say something outrageous or make a slip up while speaking and the world knows. I honestly do not watch any of the debates by either party. I pay no attention to the ads. That makes it difficuly on who decide.
