February 12, 201610 yr Author Are you sure the coach knew who should be at the line for 2 of the free throws and purposely sent the wrong person up there? We are only talking about two of the four free throws because the two technicals can be shot by whoever the coach wants to send to the line Yes we are for sure the coaches knew. Again, I am not stating my opinion I just thought it was a grey area and a fine line. As well as I thought there was a rule about it.
February 12, 201610 yr Author Yes, this is a problem. A rule violation. Intentionally sending the wrong shooter to the line. Are we sure that this wasn't a "medical" shooter ? In other words the girl that got fouled wasn't "able" to shoot ? (Even if this was the case, it would still appear to be administered incorrectly) I have to agree with @Clyde....bad day for 3 officials. No way one of them shouldn't have picked up the shooter and relayed to rest of crew. The player fouled stayed in the game and if they could not shoot, wouldn't the sub player have to shoot the free throws anyway? referring to the personal foul ones not the T
February 12, 201610 yr The player fouled stayed in the game and if they could not shoot, wouldn't the sub player have to shoot the free throws anyway? referring to the personal foul ones not the T If the fouled player stayed in the game that player shoots. You can't bring in a sub in that case.
February 12, 201610 yr Ha, ha....Cat was probably like 5 years old during this timeframe....pretty sure she has no idea who Bernard King is...just sayin' I turned 8 in November of 1976 and that makes me still younger than you.

February 12, 201610 yr Author If the fouled player stayed in the game that player shoots. You can't bring in a sub in that case. For sure. The real fouled player stayed in the game. A previous post said are we sure it wasn't a medical situation. Meaning the player that was really fouled had to exit the game. My point was that didn't happen, they didn't come out but even if they did come out for being hurt, the sub has to shoot the throws.
February 12, 201610 yr I turned 8 in November of 1976 and that makes me still younger than you. Ok...go with that. I bet on your last birthday you were 29....again...

February 12, 201610 yr Why would a ref ever ask a coach who got fouled? Never heard of that. Exactly, you quietly ask the player….
February 15, 201610 yr How about refs are human and sometimes make mistakes?! :idunno: I question the first part....
