February 14, 201610 yr Considering you signed a contract with a team that was in certain city and now that has changed (a big change mind you) wondering if there was on out clause, surprised the NFLPA doesnt have one in contracts to be honest. I mean what happens if the NFL moves a current franchise to London. Those under contract will go London if they want to play. Pretty simple. Also, remember if a player, for example, has one year left and decides to not play or retire, he still owes that team one year. See Carson Palmer with Bengals. Players get around this by sitting out 11 games and coming in Week 12, maybe 13 to get their 4 games in to constitute a year. So at the minimum they would have to go to London and play at least 4 games under the previous scenario. If they have more than a year, they have to suck it up and play or retire.
