Down 80-70 in a game that is being played at a fast pace is not the same as a 10 point deficit in a very low scoring defensive battle.

It's the All A 37 points wins the game, was it a four corner or slow down offense that Murray used? I did not see the game or listen to it, just wanted to know. And there's a big difference between 37-33 and 80-70, lot more opportunities to shoot the ball or put back misses. Stats say BB took 33 shots but can't find anything on Murray. Just wanted some info. Just surprised by the score after watching the Paris BB game at Bracken Co.

I think Mustang ment their grind it out offense and their in your face defense. Historically speaking.

Last night we were held to 3 points in transition. We needed to control the tempo, and it appears that we succeeded there. We have won 16 games this year, adapting to what needs to be done to win. No Apologies to anyone.

 

We could have run up and down the floor with them, chucking up 3s at every opportunity and got beat 80-65, much to the gratification of our detractors. That would have been our preferred "style of losing".

 

Murray, pure and simply had the better athletes on this night. Valuing possession of the ball, and trying to get high percentage shots was the way to go. Several times we did re-set and try to do something differently. We pretty much knew that it was one-done on the offensive glass.

 

With all this being said, up ten, Murray tried to shoot themselves out of the game, because they continued to put up threes when the situation called for a more conservative approach. This allowed us to get back into the game.

 

Maybe the Murray MVP was the guy who threw the pop bottle on the floor disrupting a Mustang run-out, and did a fine job stymieing what momentum we had at that point.

I believe the bottle toss came after a Murray steal. #15 for the Tigers stole his man's cookies and Brossart got back in time to defend the layup. I don't even remember if it went in, which I'm sure you can understand, but that is the way I recount the incident. Reason being, I couldn't believe they would do that while their team was on a break.

Did Boone play for Murray? Has he been healthy this year? Haven't heard anything about him. The few times I've seen him he seemed like a really nice player.

Mr. Boone played and created quite a few opportunities for his 3-point shooters with his dribble-drive. He, himself, only scored 6 points - one field-goal and four free-throws. He is a Samford (NCAA - Division I) signee who averages over 12 points a game.

 

As to the bottle incident. I did not see it come in until after it was already out there. My broadcast partner did and said that it came from the Murray student section directly behind the basket. His thinking was that it came in when Murray failed to score on that steal/score attempt that also included some "hotly contested" second effort attempts. Play was stopped however, when Brossart was in possession of the ball and had out-letted to trigger a transition effort.

The bottle play was after a misses Murray break and Brossart rebound. I didn't see it thrown but am pretty sure I know what happened. The Murray "student section" was basically their girls team and some younger (than high school) kids. As soon as I saw the bottle I looked but at their section, all the girls were staring over at the younger kids, the younger kids were all looking at one of them in disbelief. I'll call him Ralph just for fun. Ralph then ran up about 8 rows and over two sections, slouching way down in a seat. Everyone had a reaction like "holy crap what just happened?" My take is the Ralphgot excited and in celebrating what he thought would be a layup for Murray the pop slipped out of his hands. Saw Ralph talking to an adult after the game and he still seemed very embarrassed. I could be way off but it seemed like a complete accident to me.
