As some people may know I am a bit of a HC fan. Here's my take on the whole thing. I would say that they are the number 3 program in 1A football around here this decade. They may not always finish 3rd, but I don't think they've missed the playoffs since the first time they made it. The problem with them and the other schools in 1A is that they can't beat the big 2 three times in 1 year. They could possibly beat 1 of them 1 year, but I don't see them beating them both in the regular season and then beating 1 of them in the playoffs. I also can't see them beating only 1 of them during the season, then beating them both in the playoffs.

Latch I admire your loyalty to HC but some HC fans continue to try to include HC in the same group as NCC and Beechwood and with all due respect those 2 are the elite and HC continues to run with the next tier of teams (Bellevue, Dayton and Ludlow). They honestly haven't done anything that suggests otherwise. HC should be commended for building a very competitive program in a relatively short amount of time but as much as it pains many HC fans to hear it you are still running in the same class as Bellevue, Dayton and Ludlow and for anyone to think otherwise isn't thinking very clearly. HC should have a very nice team this year and I wish them the best.

Even if HC is much improved they have a long way to go before they beat NCC or Beechwood. Neither Beechwood or NCC has had to take HC serious yet.

With all that said I hope HC gives both NCC and Beechwood all they want, it will only make NKY 1A football better.

Don't forget about those Danville Admirals. I've been keeping up with them and i must say, they are loaded this year. They will be much better then last season. We scrimmage the Ads next week.

As with much of what you say, there are parts that I almost agree with you.

If anything, there is three tiers in NKY 1A

1st.) Beechwood and NCC.

2nd.) HC

and 3rd.) everybody else.....

While the third tier teams compete with HC, they are not as consistent year in and year out as HC.

:thumb: I'm just glad to hear that there are at least parts of what I say that you almost agree with.;) In time I just might get you to come completely around. We will just have to agree to disagree on that 2nd tier idea of yours.:D

I never put them in the same group. I even said they couldn't beat those 2 times a combined 3 times a year.

This is exactly what I'm saying. I could be wrong but I don't think HC has missed the playoffs since the first time they made it. All the other teams fill in the missing spot. I understand that they are closer in competition to the other teams and not the big 2, but I would not hesitate to say that this decade they are the 3rd best program in 1A football in northern KY.

 Ok if you want to feel that way Latch. I knew you would and you knew I wouldn't:D . I mean who wants to play for 3rd best anyway..;)

You are right they don't give out trophies for 3rd place as far as I know. I think that all of the other teams have a very difficult time beating those 2 teams 3 times in 1 year and that is what it will take to advance in the playoffs. I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

After their less then impressive come from behind victory over Scott I think you can throw away that 2nd tier idea.. Looks like they will be fighting it out with Bellevue, Dayton and Ludlow for the last 2 playoff spots as always. Good luck in 2A HC. Things will get that much more difficult for you next year..

I like the odds of HC atleast finishing third in the district. Since HC has made the playoffs the first time how many times has a team in our district outside of Beechwood and NCC beaten HC?

 No clue bs..I'm: concerned only with this year. You enjoy going back in history all the time.. Maybe you could share with those who care.

Well first of all HC has been beaten the last 2 years by other teams cause they have been the 4th seed the last couple of years. HC should be able to be atleast a 4th seed every year cause teams like Ludlow, Bellevue, Dayton go through cycles with good players. But with Holy Cross able to get players from different places it is easier for them to stay competitive every year.

I dont know where people are getting that HC has gotten better every year since they started. I feel that ever since 03 when they had Armstrong and Stone that they have gone down as a program. And well them only being able to finish 4th the last couple of years supports what I say. Because they were finishing 3rd in the district and now they are finishing 4th so that means they have gone down and not up every year like some people have said...

This year they have a talented team and SHOULD be the 3rd seed in the district this year, but I really think that they except for Bracken have the worst coaching staff in the area and that could end up hurting this team even though they are the most talented team besides NCC, and Beechwood. IMO it will be very interesting to see which teams come out of the district this year with the 3rd and 4th seeds...

As I said in a different thread I am sick of people bashing Koz and his staff. First of all, I know every one of the coaching staff and they do a fine job. When people like you get on here and start talking about coaches, you need check yourself. If you are, or ever coached anything, you should be ASHAMED.
