January 16, 201610 yr Author ^ Do you think it is? I believe it is the Truth and have believed that for several years and have been called sexist more than once due to that view. I am more curious what others feel, Catholic and non Catholic. I asked a friend of mine what she thought. She said in college the video probably would have atleast caused her to roll her eyes and possible as much as disgusted her. Ten years out of college and more mature she said she is thankful to have a husband like mentioned in the video. I don't know him as well as her but do know consciously or unconsciously he embraces and lives out sacrificial love.
January 16, 201610 yr I do not think it is sexist. And I would also love to see a similar video for women.
January 16, 201610 yr I didn't watch the video, just read the article. But I don't think it's sexist. I do think that the comments about sacrificial love are applicable to both sexes though. Where is this video being distributed?
January 16, 201610 yr I don't have a problem with the message although I do think this video was produced specifically for a mens program of some sort. I hope it helps someone. BTW, I have one of these men in my life and I thank God for him every day!

Where is this video being distributed? Agree. And would like to see one for young women as well. They could use a wake up call on priorities and sacrifices as well.
January 16, 201610 yr I agree with most posts. It seems as if this video is a message to men to become better Christian men. And many of the ideas presented could be applied to woman's lives as well. Would still love to see a video more slanted toward women, though. So to answer the question, no, I do not think the video is sexist. (I know, shocker that I agreed with a Catholic publication )
January 17, 201610 yr It's the truth. Poor male leadership is a huge problem in the church. Obviously, there are great male models, but not nearly enough. I'm speaking from what I witnessed growing up going to a catholic school, and from what I've witnessed as a teacher at a Catholic school for the past few years.
January 17, 201610 yr Author Agree. And would like to see one for young women as well. They could use a wake up call on priorities and sacrifices as well. I think the reason it is directed towards men is because men in the past few decades much more so than women have dropped the ball in the family relationship than women have.
January 17, 201610 yr I think the reason it is directed towards men is because men in the past few decades much more so than women have dropped the ball in the family relationship than women have. And I agree. But I also think that the TENDENCY for women to be narcissistic, self-involved, "entitled" and otherwise distracted is on the rise.
January 23, 201610 yr I think the reason it is directed towards men is because men in the past few decades much more so than women have dropped the ball in the family relationship than women have. Plus the perception of the role of men and their relationship to women and the family has been changing in our culture and there are some confusing messages out there. This video provides some much needed direction and affirmation for the role of men in the family and as a spiritual leader. I commend the Bishop for a bold and relevant message.

It is quite disturbing that in a section of society it is considered "cool" to have kids from numerous women you have squeaked out of supporting. Women are even calling for this lie.
