Mercer is playing good ball right now in all aspects of the game. Mercer should win the game but I don't think it will be by 20. I'm thinking more around 12 to 15. It is really hard to win at Wayne, plus they don't lose at home that much. If Mercer comes out and plays the way they did against Madison Central then it will be alone night for them. Mercer has been known to come out of the gate a little slow and you can't do that against a Wayne team. But Mercer is play good right now so I am going with them. Plus my kids go their so I go to pick them.

 

In hindsight, that Madison Central game may have been a good win for Mercer. Madison Central shot 75% from three and very well overall, yet Mercer still found a way to win. Don't forget that they are the same team that knocked off Dunbar earlier this week.

 

Hard to beat an athletic team that is shooting that well.

OK. Let me explain something about Wayne co. First they are raised from birth to be tough as nails. Hard to explain but they are. 2ND there is a reason they have only lost two games at home since 2012-13 season. 2012 by east jess and this year to SW. SW hit an improbable 3 to send to overtime in that one. get the win by 20 out your head. Mercer is very good but you better be thrilled to get the W there.

This is my train of thought.

In looking at the stats, this ain't your typical Wayne team! Mercer has shot several more threes and is shooting them at a 10% higher clip than Wayne. Also, presumably due to their size, Wayne is playing a lot of zone this year. Two facts that are shocking to say the least.

 

Wayne has a big size advantage in the frontcourt but Mercer has one in the backcourt. Mercer has the advantage athletically. They are just very different teams with different styles and different coaching philosophies.

 

I think it will come down to which team shoots the 3 well. Wayne is very, very tough on their home floor. I will be happy if Mercer walks away with a W, regardless of margin!

I will be there for this one! Should be a great game.

This wouldn't surprise me. I think this is a toss up. The only way i would be surprised if this was a blow out.
