Big 35th District match-up in Latonia tomorrow night.

 

Holy Cross hasn't beaten Holmes since I believe the 04/05 or 05/06 season.

 

Who wins and why?

The Indians win this one at home by 10.

 

Their 'D' and perimeter shooting will be strong, while the Dawgs, outside of McClendon, have been too inconsistent, and though they have various players capable of stepping it up, they mostly lack in pure shooting.

 

I expect an exciting packed house feeding into the intensity of the game, but with Holy Cross trading 3's for 2's, the math is elementary.

As much as I still have a bit of a question mark next to this Holy Cross team, I think they beat the Bulldogs in Latonia tonight -- and I'm not sure the margin doesn't extend to 10-12.

the difference in this game will be barnes. if he can score HC wins. If he does not, then it is a toss up.

Barnes averages 3 points a game. I'm not sure if that makes him a differences maker with his scoring. His rebounding, however, could play a major role in the game.

I've only seen HC play twice, but I'm puzzled as to how Barnes is being utilized. Against Cooper he became an unstoppable monster late in the game, and was a big factor in the Indians getting the W.

 

Since then I haven't heard much about him and of course if he's only averaging 3 points a game that obviously has something to do with it.

 

Does anyone closer to the inner workings of the team understand his role? Are his numbers low because of inconsistency, or is it because of how he's being used, or for any other reason I haven't mentioned? :idunno:

I watched the NCC game vs HC. Barnes started and had 2 or 3 turnovers early they took him out, and he never came back in the game. Played maybe 2 minutes.
