January 9, 201610 yr Meh, it is what it is, it's a comfort thing for you, that's why they make guns a lot of different ways. I was just curious. I own 6 handguns and a few rifles, plus a shogunt but I've never owned a pistol with a safety so that's probably why it doesn't bother me.I'd say. And my son was 9 when I bought it for him. And it wasn't him that was my safety concern. I won't divulge how many pistols, shotguns or rifles I own, my wife might read this.:sssh:

January 9, 201610 yr Many good guns out there in the same class as the Glock. ... at a much more affordable price. I owned a Glock 22 in a 40S&W and now have a Taurus that I bought for under $300 which is every bit as solid and dependable. I'd probably buy a Springfield XD ~$420 .....love the grip safety ..... safe to carry but when you grab it it's ready to fire

I feel like Rocket or HB has one but I may just be making that up in my head.

No different than the remington 1911. Not a fan.
January 11, 201610 yr Took me 3 min because I had a conceal carry permit I got flagged the first time I bought a handgun, had to wait until the next day to pick up the gun. Bought a second handgun a few months later and was flagged again, only for about an hour or two this time. When I went back to pick up the gun I talked to "Mike" my gun guy and asked him why I keep getting flagged and he told me that likely someone with a similar SSN as me is not allowed to own a gun, so people with similar SSN's end up getting flagged for further review. After clearing that up, he told me that he teaches a CC class and that if I had a CC permit I wouldnt have to worry about being flagged again. I've had a cc permit ever since.

January 11, 201610 yr I know those guys well. Pretty solid folks all around that joint. They've treated me very well and in turn I've paid for that new building. :lol2:

They've treated me very well and in turn I've paid for that new building. :lol2: Yeah they're good group of guys that work there. If you shop around a little you can usually find a little better pricing at other stores in the area. But I keep going back to Borders due to the customer service and knowledge they have. If they know you are a loyal customer they will work with you some on price matching as well. The only gun I can remember buying from a dealer other than Borders in the past 10 years or so was a Benelli SuperNova shotgun. The only reason I didnt buy it from them is because they didnt have the camo model I wanted and Mike actually told me to check a Benelli dealer in Ironton and if they didnt have it there to come back and he would order it for me.
January 12, 201610 yr You carry a 10mm everyday? You afraid a Grizzly is going to jump you?:thumb: Lol. Don't want to have to shoot twice.
January 12, 201610 yr Lol. Don't want to have to shoot twice. 10mm is a mean round no doubt. My only issue with it is its not a mainstream round which has in turn driven the price up. I dont own any Glocks, but if i did, it would be the Glock 40.
January 12, 201610 yr Gun Review: Walther PPQ .45 ACP - The Truth About Guns IMO, Walther PPQ's are the modern day Glock. Similar design, with a better (glock style) trigger, and better ergonomics. I've been wanting a PPQ m1 .40 for a while but cant find one anywhere. Looks like i may settle for the PPQ m2 .45

I dont own any Glocks, but if i did, it would be the Glock 40. I started reloading so the price is about 15 cents a round when I reuse the cases. Projectile, about 9 cents. Primer, about 3.5 cents. Powder, about 3 cents. Abundant supply of ammo, priceless.
