Randy Parker Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Final from the Ashland Invitational 5th place game.
Randy Parker Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Sophomore guard Taylor Smith led the Lions with 20 & Hunter Kenser added 19. Senior guard Kolton Williams led the Polar Bears with 19 points.
polarbear98 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 All be it In a losing effort I liked how Bracken played thru adversity with Crawford have foul trouble in the first half. Williams is a streaky shooter but when he is hot he will score in bunches.
All Blue Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Boyd is the best defensive team I've seen, only committed 8 total fouls for the game.
spindoc Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 The schneid has been dismounted. Congrats to Boyd. Is it just me or has the 10 fared poorly vs. the 16th?
Elk H Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 The schneid has been dismounted. Congrats to Boyd. Is it just me or has the 10 fared poorly vs. the 16th? Oh you just opened a can of worms!!! Let's here it now

Oh you just opened a can of worms!!! Let's here it now My very quick count of the schedules says the 10th is 11-5 vs. the 16th Region this year.
Randy Parker Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 My very quick count of the schedules says the 10th is 11-5 vs. the 16th Region this year. Will be 12-5 here shortly if Brossart holds on to beat Greenup.
polarbear87 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I find it hard to believe that one team fouls that much more than the other. Bracken did foul three times on purpose in the final minute, but 23 to 8.
Randy Parker Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 I listened to a little over half of this game, but there were a couple of moments that stuck out to me. Boyd is up 44-33 & Bracken goes on a 10-2 run, cutting it to 46-43 just before the end of the 3rd. Bobby Anderson, though, gets a basket to end the 3rd and another to start the 4th, making it 50-43 early in the 4th. The other moment was toward the end of the game. Crawford cuts it to 56-53, then Bears force a Boyd turnover out of the timeout. Crawford scores, but gets called for an offensive foul. Get the ball back and the same thing happens--Crawford scores but gets whistled for another offensive foul (his 5th). Kenser & Smith both hit a pair of FT's and that's pretty much that. Sounded like Boyd was very patient on the offensive end, particularly down the stretch, but they hit those FT's in the last minute or so to seal the victory.
