As for the primary read, you actually see him start to look at his second and third option when he doesn't throw it to the first read. However as soon as he starts going through his progressions that is when pressure is right on him. Daltons quick release definitely hid the lines poor protection.

No dog in the fight as I'm a Steelers fan, but McCarron is mediocre by any standard. A reason he was a 5th rounder despite helping 'Bama win two National Titles. And please don't tell us Tom Brady was a late rounder.

So, I have never changed my opinion. Geez why do you always challenge everything people say? You are not the only one that has an opinion on the Bengals and you just might be wrong some. Rose colored glasses , by and large, gets in the way of what is really happening sometimes.

 

I listen to over 20 hours of experts a week, watch several shows that have experts that know a lot more than me to form my opinions. I also watch every game and attend all home games and at least one away game a year. I know very little other than what I see. I AM NOT an expert, but try and look at what I see and find out what the experts think.

 

My opinion on McCarron has always been reserved until he proved something. I really like what I see. I reserved my opinion on Hill last year and was very surprised with his last half of last year. I am perplexed with him this year, but he seems to be not getting to the hole quickly. Although yesterday there were no holes.

 

Players have to prove it over time before I buy in.

 

Have your opinion, but both Marvin and Hue said they were protecting AJ and will next week. They expect the vets to step it up. Marvin said we just want him to manage the game, hit his opportunities and don't turn the ball over. That is the formula for AJ to lead this team. I really like what I see from him, but as Bill Parcells says I ain't ready to crown him a Hall of Famer yet.

 

That's the thing just because I disagree with your opinion doesn't mean I don't respect your opinion. I honestly love how you present your opinions and they are much more rational than someone else I use to debate lol. I like you also read a ton of what people say and also though form my opinion on what I see. Which has done me very well over the last 5 years on how I think this team will do as compared to others. Shoot I was killed for saying reasons why Palmer struggled here the last two years and was told they were just excuses and he sucks and is a bum and is no better than a backup. Well it seems with him those excuses people said ended up being very true.

 

With McCarron I liked his composure and attitude before I ever saw him play and now seeing him play and throws he can make, makes me like him more. You brought up the Steelers game and how they confused him which is true. However you realize even with no reps or much work with the game plan. He actually put up better numbers than Dalton usually does against the Steelers. Dalton has had one game which he threw for more yards than what McCarron did agaisnt them. Dalton also had only had two games where he had a higher completion percentage in a game against them. In his last 4 games he has 4 tds and 5 interceptions agaisnt them. Shoot even in the win this year he only had 1 td and 2 picks. So while yes McCarron did get confused bad on two plays, he actually did very well. Especially considering the Steelers usually always give AD problems too even with his experience.

 

I will keep saying I want Dalton back and starting. I just disagree that this offense is in horrible shape and now cant pass like some seem to think. As long as the skill guys are healthy, McCarron can make all the throws but the line will have to give him a half second longer which does make a big difference I admit. Daltons quick release helped a lot.

We shall see. I think it's about time for me to make a Carson Palmer thread. I had to admit I was wrong on him a few years ago, but it may be time for me to take that back and for others to admit they were wrong on him lol

 

As I proved with Palmer I will end up admitting I was wrong if McCarrons play shows that lol. I can't really argue it if he just simply goes out and not get it done.

I know I read that. I guess we shall see how the game plan ends up looking agaisnt Denver this week. If he sticks by this it will be 60 40 in favor of the run again. We shall see.

They have only played in Denver twice in the last 17 years and have lost both by a combined 3 points :idunno: And the Bengals beat them last year on Monday Night Football. I hope it's a good game and we pull one out.

 

 

Why are we only looking at 17 years? The Bengals are 2-12 all time in Denver, and haven't won there since 1975. The Bengals don't have a chance. It's over. Bengals vs Steelers 1st round of the playoffs, and the Steelers keep Marvin winless in the playoffs.
