Funny how things seem. :lol: I was merely espousing feelings about the subject that have been told to me by HHS fans/alumni/and supporters. Not all, but some feel this way. I think the majority is fine with things however they work out. I tried to state that I was merely echoing what has already been said by others to me and on this site many times, but that message seems to be overlooked.

 

 

If we are talking about HHS moving up to 6A, I think it would be a real challenge and I've never heard ANY Highlands fan talk about moving up with them.

 

If we are talking about moving up to 5A, I agree with Birdsfan that such makes a lot more sense particularly if CovCath was to move up. Personally looking at 32's breakdown, I am of the opinion that 5A is easier than 4A. In 5A, the tough teams are BG, S. Oldham and Ashland (with Christian County and Dixie on the bubble). With 4A, there's Highlands, CovCath, Bell, Lex Cath, Boyle and Rockcastle (with Franklin-Simpson and Mason County on the bubble). Admittedly I've not followed a lot of the teams throughout the state slated to be in 5A. Whom am I leaving out as tough teams?

 

And I don't mean to be insulting to any team, so if I insulted anyone, I apologize.

 

Dixie is supposedly going to be much improved based on 32's reports (and may just hand the Birds a loss in the opening game but I doubt that's going to happen), but based on past results (which is all we have to look at), I'd have to think the Birds would continue to fare quite well against Dixie if we were to move up to 5A. S. Oldham has actually given the Birds closer games than the Red Colonels which is why I put them in the tough class and put Dixie on the bubble category in the tough team designation.

 

What do people think: is 5A, as broken down by 32, weaker or stronger than 4A?

Sandman: My thoughts exactly noway will JH move up. We have around 650 boys in the school, yes Hardin Co is growing rapidly. I think JH will enjoy playing schools with the same population. By the way go REDHOUNDS!!!

 

JD, it wouldn't surprise me if JH had to move up within 5 years because of the growing population. You're only 40 boys away from moving up now. Don't forget, it's possible for some of the schools in 6A to shrink enough that you and some other 5A schools will have to replace them.

Although the teams you speak of are good teams, they seem to be the ones your familiar with. There are some good ones your over looking that are currently 4A. As far as Dixie versus HHS goes, we had some competitive playoff games with you before we moved up, and some not so competitive. We have become a much better team and program since we left 3A and if we got paired together in a district again I doubt things would end up they way you remember them. We are still evolving IMO, and I believe would give the Birds and CCH all they wanted if we were in a district together. We start out the year slow and build, I don't think you can judge our program versus yours and have a clear picture by looking at week one results. We treat scrimmage, and non district games as tools to become better for district play. We want to win of course, but IMO, we are two steps behind HHS at the start of the season usually. Hopefully that's changing, I know the coaches do all they can, but the kids have to buy in first as you well know. I also realize that a large part of the reason you feel the way you do is due to T and X's total doomination of 4A. It's hard to notice a team that is pretty good, versus teams that are great.
