My point exactly. Some should be playing football. Good on the hardwood, great on the gridiron. Better college options that route as well.

The problem with football and baseball for that matter is almost no one gets it all paid for thru athletics. If you qualify for some academic money or grants then that will help but if not then basketball is a better way to get your school fully paid for. I know when I went in basketball there was only two kids on the team that got a full athletic scholarship. Me and our point guard. The rest got partial and some of the rest got the difference made up thru grants

That makes sense depending on what level you go for. If you're a D1 talent, there are 85 scholarships in football compared to only 13 in basketball. NAIA level is a little tighter with 24 & 11 respectively I think. The preference is obviously basketball at SW and I'm OK with that. Here's to hoping they win the Classic.

I agree with you but there is not a D1 talent in football in the county or laurel co for that matter. say you go naia 24 scholarships have to be divided among what 50-60 kids. basketball you got 11 full rides for 12 kids. Its a mind field no matter what you decide.

I guarantee I've seen more teams in these rankings than you have and you actually get paid to do it. I'm doing it for free. I'll make it down to see your precious South Laurel team sooner or later and if you want to give me gas money, pay for my time missed at my job(26 bucks an hour) and make sure they aren't playing on a day when my son is playing I'll come watch them. Until then they need to beat somebody. Period.

I disagree with that statement. Let's take WKU or EKU for example, D1 schools. You don't think Hall, Johnson, or even Gregory (@ DB) are good enough to crack a spot there? There was a time where I would have put Butt in that category. None of them would sniff a basketball roster at either of those schools in my opinion. Good, just not great for that level.

I know zero about actual offers. I know Johnson has been to Purdue and I think has spoken to Navy. He's a step above the rest as far as potential to go D1. He'll end up with a nice list. Not completely sure about the rest. You've probably heard more than myself.

It's a shame someone with your background and qualifications would rather spend time tearing down our rankings and rankings process over rankings from nearly two weeks ago instead of allowing the process to work itself through. You're so butt hurt over South Laurel's exclusion from what....the second or third rankings of the season it is laughable to be honest. You'd rather discredit our rankings and bully us into putting South Laurel in the rankings rather than having some patience. You're older than I am but you're acting like a teenage girl who was stood up at prom. These rankings aren't perfect. We'll admit that but to see someone like you acting like this over the second or third rankings of the season has opened my eyes for sure. I always thought you were better than that. Guess not.

 

ALL you have to do is look at Les's latest rankings and that will tell you all you need to know. South Laurel didn't play a game last week but they received the longest write up of any team in the region explaining details of games from the previous week. He has absolutely no credibility anymore. He runs his little 13th region facebook thread and if you disagree with anything he says he kicks you off.
