I think the differance in this game will be team speed I really don't know what SC has this season but I know LC has speed not great speed but all over speed on both sides of the ball . If SC has the speed to match us then it will be a DAWG fight . To the end I still think it will be a classic with alot of big hit's from both side . Go sickem Dawgs .:fight:

To be honest i dont now who to pick in this game. SC returns nearly all its speciality players but lost some good O-lineman. LC had a down year and lost a lot of what they had last year including their two big playmakers in Spradlin and Humphery to graduation and transfer respectively. LC may surprise some ppl but i dont look for them to beat SC at SC. Should be a good one. My prediction:

Jason Spradlin did have a lot of talent but the baggage that he brought with him impacted the team in a very negative way. It was not a team effort when he was out there. Believe me when I tell you that the environment was not a good one. Now the team seems to be playing together and I see a lot of good players that play well together and that will outshine one or two individuals that don't. There are no players that are "special. All the boys are very supportive of each other, which we have not had for at least a couple of years. I think that it will be a tough one, but I have to go with the Dawgs.

No disrespect to LC, but the transfers will hurt.

IF SC is as good as everyone says and LC is as down as everyone says after losing 2 transfers then LC ( on paper ) is going to get blown out.

IMHO, one of the two transfers will hurt LC but not like everyone thinks. Last years QB showed signs of a becoming a good player then he would turn the ball over 4 or 5 times a game. The other kid could be one of the better players in the area by the time he graduates, IMO he will be missed the most at LC.

Plus, where these players contributed the most was one on offense the other defense, and the last time I checked there was 10 other players not just that one.

Believe me when I say LC will be fine until they face a team that can throw and spread the field.

Sheldon CLark has a good back feild and a strong line. The Dials kid ran for 1600 yards last year and didn't even start the first couple games. Kelley will get his hands on the ball quite a bit now that they moved him to HB from FB. Sheldon Clarks biggest loss was on defense. But after seeing LC I will take SCHS 28-12.

This will be a dandy. Lawrence County is a big physical football team and they will remain a physicall football team as long as Goldsmith is at the helm. SC had a very experienced line last year and Lawrence still appeared to dominate them up front. SC has the skilled players to topple the Bulldogs and I think they will. I don't expect a flawless game from either team, it being the first game of the season, but I think the Cards will pull it out.

If we're going with team speed, then SC can contend with JUST ABOUT anybody. And even if people dislike these two teams. they know it's ONE OF THE MOST PHYSICAL games in the mountains.

Come on guys, we know these two respect each other;) , but out on the field, all these players want to do is cream the man in front of them.

what is such a big deal that LC had 2 transfers??? do you honestly believe that that will be the thing that hurts LC football??? Give me a break!!!

I'll take the Dawgs by 2-3 TD's! Their defense shows up in a big way IMO. That is unless they turn the ball over.

It is hard to predict a game this early in the season. The Bulldogs have dominated the Cards the last few seasons. I do believe this is the best Sheldon Clark team since their return to 2A. I look for some offense by both teams in this one. I am taking Sheldon Clark 26 - 21. Go Cards!
