Early in the year, but what is your take on how it is going this season?

Seen the same here. I've been to games in the 8th, 9th & 10th

Fourth region is really down as they have 60 plus old men trying to get down the floor. Several in the second are having trouble keeping up also

Davis is still trying to call games and he is close to 70. Shows the limited amount of officials they have to fill the spots.

He needs to find another hobby

Refereeing at the high school level is bad all around the state. I'm sure they can't get a lot of referees that are ex athletes and guys who really know the game to do the job. I've seen referees that do recreation league games out there doing high school. Nobody seems to want to do it anymore unless they need the money.

It's a tough gig.

It is a tough job, but at some time they need to hang it up as they embarrass themselves by not being able to keep up and do the job.

Grab a whistle, guys and girls. They are always looking!

If people keep on complaining, don't be surprised if the officiating gets worse as refs say the heck with it and hang it up.

Fees are set by the policy board that governs each association. Associations are set up to cover a region or regions in some case. Varsity fee is between $60 and probably $70, JV and Freshman likely around $40 - $50 for most regions.

 

No mileage typically, until post season. Fairly minimal then.

I have generally found that when your team wins the officiating was fine. When your team loses lose it was awful.
