Morganstown, West Virginia playing in a tourney that has fielded even the D1 Greyhounds.

Any word on how they did? Looks like Shooter has been suspended by

the Prep Force.

I was impressed with the KY State Championship win as well. The Birds will definitely need Simons pulling the trigger next year along with Simpson and McGraw, not a bad 3 guard system. I think they had some tough luck in Nationals from what I read on the AAU National website. Still a nice looking team of locals.

Simons is a nice player, probably better at football though. The real strength in that team are the new players picked up. The two kids from the N.Ky Royals helped tremendously and the black from Cincy, who plays bigger than what he is, are the true reasons for their accomplishments. Don't get me wrong, the other kids are nice players but until they added the new additions they were not even close to a state AAU contender, except when they had Matt Roberts several yrs ago.

Matt Roberts is at Cinc Moeller. I believe he was expecting to have a promising Soph yr and he got a severe ankle sprain coming into the season. I believe he ended up starting a few varsity games at the end of his Soph season. He was not able to play any summer ball (we inquired with his family about doing so) due to, I believe, knee issues. He was going to rehab through the summer and try and get ready for his Jr yr. He has always been a great kid and has a super family. Hope he does well.:thumb:

I would guess they will hang in there most games with their defense which wont be any weaker IMO. I think Willie needs to start moving some of the Frosh/soph's up to JV and getting them some Varsity minutes.

Hopefully Mcgraw will be able to play. Is Simons going to play? He didn't last year. Simons and Stein were the only 2 from HHS that were listed on the Jazz roster according to the Enquirer piece.

From what I hear and understand around town, he missed it and wants to play this year. I hope it works out as they need as much talent as they can get.

Team Kentucky is doing great out in LA. Yesterday taking a close loss against national power Mater Dei HS 105-99. Team Kentucky had a balanced attack and 21 3 pointers.

They also picked up Corey Sorrel after a kid quit the team. Probably the biggest pick up they made this summer. I believe he lead them in scoring.
