ShooterX3...I was there at both locations in Louisville today and watched parts of 10

games. After conferring with with several people, the Hoosier Classic was the place to be in terms of gaining collegiate exposure and competition level. I saw a hand full of scouts, but nothing compared to what I saw at the classic last year and what you were stating in your post regarding this year. Only 5 Kentucky teams were at the event, all were Eddie Ford teams in various divisions. Overall, the Hoopfest did have a good start today. I do know the DS Allstars West team were knocked out in the 2nd round. How did the East do in the Hoosier even?

DS east was knocked out by AFE Wizards on Friday 82-79, but the exposure was good and I have received calls from several college coaches already about our kids. I cant believe the Nashville Celtics came back and beat the ds west team. They had everything going their way when I left at halftime and the west team was up 41-24. But we had double digit leads in both of our losses as well. Finding a pace you can maintain in summer ball can be tough with a limited bench. You never know when your going to run into the

"WALL".

I believe Eddie got soft and let in the Kentucky Shining Stars at the Hoopfest?

Budman should be checking in to let us know how they are doing. I bet they got a great draw

Kentucky Shining Star Sports ended up loosing their tourney game to Speice Central Stars at the Hoosier Shootout. They have a nice squad, shot the ball extremely well. Overall, we played pretty well but exited a littler earlier than I would have liked.

 

I thought the exposure was pretty good. Zach Kiernan turned a lot of heads during the tourney.

 

We are playing in the Kentucky Hoopfest, I am getting ready to head to the the tourney as we speak. Eddie Ford agreed to let us play, we did not use our Ohio mailing address. We talked via email and he was very cool about letting us in. I appreciate him letting us play because I really enjoy the tourney.

 

We will be a little short handed without two of our bigs. Zach Kiernan and Josh Hurd will not be playing with us in the Hoopfest.

 

I hope that all of the Kentucky teams do well this weekend. Good luck to all.

on a side note, look for Rick Bolus to name Jeffrey Brooks Kentucky's #1 player after a "dunkathon" in his all star game at blue chip camp, His overall game is nowhere near as polished as Stephon Pettigrew, but I think Bolus loves the "dunk", the kid does have potential but he is very raw right now

Take a "grain of salt" with the Bolus rankings. The basketball gurus do. They are the least respected rankings published in the state and region.

I would say that they have a lot of good stuff and there are a few I disagree with as far as rankings. I think he does a great job.

I wouldnt even want to see them if I were you. Any ranking that has Eugene Wade the 7th best player in the state and doesnt even have Austin Hill the reigning 9th region player of the year in the top 60 is a joke.

The rankings are way off in terms of Kentucky's true talent. If a kid does not go to Bolus's camp, he is at a tremenddous disadvantage. Pettigrew is not even in the top 5 and he has Wade neck and neck with Pettigrew. Wade averaged just at 8 points per game as a junior in the 8th Region. In the past, Bolus's rankings created a problem by having people see who Bolus has at the top and then seeing those players under perform and then they were writing the rest of Kentucky's talent off. However, most recruiters don't utilize his rankings when it comes to locating Kentucky's true talent crops. Bolus has lost a lot of credibility over the years.

How can Duran Jefferson be ranked and Austin Hill not even make the list?

 

Zach Kiernan should also be rated pretty high on the list.

Don't worry about it. The list was complied to have kids listed from all over the state to ensure that each corner of Kentucky is covered. This is for promotion of his camp. If Bolus were to rank kids legit, he would lose his ties with areas that feed kids to pay 400 and 500 bucks. These rankings are the worst. Recruiters will tell you that. Those rankings have no bearing on whether a kid gets to the next level. Bolus has zero cred in Kentucky.

How did Shining Star do yesterday in Louisville?

:banana: I have a friend who's kid avgd 20ppg 7.0rbds during regular season His team won districts made it to final game of region. he avgd 25.oppg and 7 boards through dist. and reg. Won MVP of reg. He went to bolus's camp(for the last time i might add) in eight games leading up to ALL-STAR selection he averaged 25.8 point's 6.8 rebound'sand 3.1 assist with four of those games 30+ !!! He is not in bolus's ranking's nor did he make the ALL-STAR team. Guess he was one of those STRIPE'S was talking about "unpacking" while the selection was being made LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana: :ylsuper:
