December 8, 201510 yr Author What's his career head coaching record? He has been on Butch Jones staff since 2007. He was congratulated on being a top 25 recruiter.
December 8, 201510 yr So why do you think it's such a bad hire? Surely it's not because he has no HC experience?
December 8, 201510 yr I wouldn't turn my football program over to a guy who has been a TE coach, a RB coach, a LB coach, a safeties coach and a special teams coach. Time will tell us how it works out.
December 8, 201510 yr Out of curiosity, when Top 25 I-AA programs (I'd put EKU in that category) make hires, do they typically hire assistants or previous head coaches? Do they pull from D1, I-AA, or the lower divisions? I honestly don't know but am curious what the SOP is.
December 8, 201510 yr Author I think it is a great hire. I can't wait to here who else is on his staff. Hopefully he recruits NKY.

December 8, 201510 yr I just hope he recruits Ky. To be fair, it's not like a ton of NKY kids are being recruited by and signing with ANY FBS or FCS schools.
December 8, 201510 yr To be fair, it's not like a ton of NKY kids are being recruited by and signing with ANY FBS or FCS schools. True, but I am sure there are at least 10 kids a year from Ky that can play at EKU. I know there are at least 4 in Louisville, 4 in Northern Ky and at least 1 from out west and south

I know there are at least 4 in Louisville, 4 in Northern Ky and at least 1 from out west and south Again in fairness, there are already at least 4 kids from NKY, 1 from Western Ky and 7 from Louisville on EKU's roster. And I know a few NKY kids that have went to EKU and not stayed over few years. If you're saying they should get that many every year, that would make up nearly half their roster, at least 40 kids(10/year X 4 years). If that were the case they'd be getting nearly every D1 kid in those areas or they'd be reaching too much for talent. Folks tend to overestimate how much true D1 talent there really is in KY.
