At 29 years old, is Brandon Smith the youngest head coach to win a state title. Who, if any, has won a state championship before their 30th birthday?

Congrats Coach from a fellow Rebel!

It'll be interesting to see if he's content to stay at SW and continue to build upon what he's started there or return to Boyle Co. some day and succeed his father. Hopefully the elder Smith has a number of years left in him before we find out.

I wonder what Jacob Tamme will do when he retires from the NFL?

Hmmmmmmm

Randy Reese couldn't have been much more than 26-27 when Ludlow won in 1975.

I just learned today that Brandon's OC is former Mercer County and WKU running back Andrew McCloud. Glad to see guys I played with and against having great success as coaches! Congrats to both and thanks for representing Central Kentucky well!

If I was Tamme I would enjoy my millions on a beach somewhere, not put up with parents who think their kid is the best player in the country. Just saying

One other stat this is Brandon Smiths 2nd year as Head coach. His record in the two seasons is 28-1.

Mark Nelson who was South's first coach had a combined record of 24-13 in his 3 seasons.

I know his wife loves Central Kentucky. Given his generosity it wouldn't shock me to see them possibly set up a non profit business in the area.

Not saying Tamme is going to become a coach one day but he does have a farm and land here in Boyle County. He also LOVES his Rebels. He can be found at home basketball games quite frequently in the offseason.

I'll also add that there are a few coaches that come to mind that are building their resumes to put in for the Boyle County job one day. Jacob Tamme isn't one of them. When that day comes that Coach Smith steps down there will be plenty of applicants to choose from.

I've been told that Brandon absolutely loves the Bowling Green area. I wouldn't be surprised if he applied at Boyle County after his father retires. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't put in for a Boyle County opening either.
