Congrats Belfry!!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this one. I really liked the Belfry players I met a few years ago. The way they handled themselves, they were respectful, and represented their community well.

Congratulations to the Belfry Pirated on their fine season and their win against LC.

 

Blocking was top notch and the overall execution in all 3 phases was flawless. Couldn't get into any rhythm on offense and took a pretty good beaten in the trenches on defense. I admire the effort from the Knights but the Pirated outplayed us. All we can do is regroup and hopefully build for 2016.

Congrats to Belfry ! What a program, what a tradition. As far as I am concerned Belfry is one of if not the premier football program in the state of Kentucky.

In Belfry's last thee State Championships they have not allowed a single Offensive TD

 

If you look at the past 5 State Championships Belfry has allowed a grand total of 3 Offensive TD's in regulation and a whopping 20 Points of Offensive Scores. An average of 4 points per game in the last 5 State Finals.

 

Here is a mind numbing stat... Belfry has allowed a TOTAL of 116 rushing yards during this stretch of 3 State Titles. That is right around 39 rushing yards per game to LexCath, Central, and Wayne County

 

Looking at those defensive rushing stats makes me think that Corbin's offense must have competed really well to have run for close to 200 yards against Belfry. They have a big gap to close, but do return 10 offensive starters plus a couple of younger players who missed the entire season.

Really the only team over the past 3 years to have any sustained form of success on the ground vs. Belfry in the playoffs.

 

As I mentioned after the game..French rushing for over 100 yards put him in rare company.

That's a great pic and the best part is the two backs looking for a block. They don't get a lot of credit for it but those backs and WR really block well.

It's all about match ups an Corbin's offense matched up well I thought. The biggest reason IMO was size and strength. I thought they had a really nice team.
