I understand where you are coming from, Male earned it for sure. Let's face it for a team to go through some of the squads that Male had to go through this year to win a title it is one heck of an accomplishment. On the occasion that Trinity has gone up against a team a second time in a season it has only happened 3 times that the Rocks lost. 2 of those 3 are to these Male Seniors.

 

Congrats Bulldogs, you earned every bit of this and deserve all the credit.

Congrats to Lafayette, you had a great run. You guys had your opportunity in the game, and made it fun to watch. Be proud of your season, and use it to fuel the fire for next season!

It doesn't belong on Shelbyville Road right now. For the time being, it belongs on Preston Highway. Next year will sort itself out later.

They were going for the running clock.

Had this discussion with a friend at the game when it happened.....if you are on the wrong end of a beat down like this do you want the opponent to get that running clock as quickly as possible or are you more upset because it seems like the other team is running if up? Having the running clock at 36 instead of 35 has made this an issue.

But anyway Lafayette played really well in the first half but shot themselves in the foot some. The turnover following the 4th down stop was huge. Lafayette is a really good football team but Male is on a whole different level than everyone else.

I think any game would be different if a defense couldn't stop the other team's star RB. :lol2:

After SK game it was obvious, Wood and the vertical game would not beat Male. Bend but do not break. Make them throw short and have extended drives with lots of chances for turnovers. Alstatt was the key, stop him and Male would stop Lafayette. Coach Wolfe turned the game one dimensional. Best defense in state gave up lots of meaningless yards, but kept Alstatt out of end zone. 86 points in 15 games is STRONG!
