I too was expecting that flurry of points. Credit the Mustang defense and a poor shooting night for the Wildcats. Brossart held them to around 26% from the field including 11% from behind the arc. 3 of Snapps 13 came from the volleyball line with about a minute to go in the game when they were trying to play catch up.

Gym should be finished, I believe, by the end of the second week of December.

 

Had some water issues which forced them to tear up half the floor and replace it.

Once Newport gets Rico back, they will look like a completely different team as it will allow Snapp to slide over to the 2, rather than having to handle the point guard duties.

Rico is a 1? I thought he was more of swing guy.

Mullins played some 1 last night. When Snapp did bring it up, once he got rid of it, Brossart did a good job of not letting him get it back.

 

Of course, most Newport possessions never lasted more than six seconds, as someone was either jacking up a long shot or attacking the rim. 3 passes was a sustained possession. Justsayin...

This was brought up countless times with the group I was sitting with. They have the talent on the floor, but this style of play will get them nowhere. They need to be more disciplined than this.

You will see that "style" change once they get Hollis back.

 

He is the best PG they have and understands when to attack and when to get the ball to his teammates.

I spoke to Hollis before the game. Wasn't sure what was wrong with his foot. Has he found out?

I was told he played half the summer with some sort of fracture...SUPPOSED to be back December 11th.
