All of us who enjoy rock music are familiar with all of the great guitarists of all-time-Hendrix, Clapton, Eddie VH, and the list goes on and on and on.

Do you have a favorite guitarist who may not be on that list of the top twenty or thirty of all time but someone whose talent you appreciate and you feel may be a bit underrated or under appreciated ?

I like these really well:

Steve Lukather(Toto)

Buckingham(The Mac)

Neil Schon

Jan Akkerman, Focus,

Lindsey Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac

Joe Walsh, James Gang

Stephen Stills, CSN&Y

Brian May-Queen

Rich Ward-Stuck Mojo/Fozzy

Here's Luke with a cover of Hendrix' s "Little Wing."

Five incredible solos by the amazing Lindsey Buckingham. He always just kills it on the "I'm So Afraid " number.

I was always partial to this big guy.

Johnny Hickman of Cracker

Same song, with Focus.

Terry Kath

Chris Shiflett- Foo Fighters

John Frusciante - formerly of the Red Hot Chili Pepppers until 2009

Todd Park Mohr - Big Head Todd & The Monsters

Micheal Shenker-UFO

Uli Jon Roth-early Scorpions

Peter Green-early Fleetwood Mac

Marzi Montazeri-Heavy as Texas/Phil Anselmo and the Illegals

Yep

Terry Kath

When Jimmy Hendricks calls you the "best guitar player I ever saw"...then you better believe you are good. Doesn't get the recognition in the music pubs like the other regularly mentioned names do, which yes I believe makes him the true definition of "underrated".

Jan Akkerman, Focus,

Lindsey Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac

Joe Walsh, James Gang

Stephen Stills, CSN&Y

Not sure how one can say Walsh or Buckingham are underrated when both constantly show up on many different top 50 all time lists, and have seen Buckingham mentioned in the top 20, I believe as high as 17.
