ATLCat Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Belfry rolls...Offense was un-relenting and the Pirates score 2 Defensive TD's to get a running clock before the Half. 12 Regional Titles in 13 Years
ATLCat Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 Not a lot change from Halftime. Belfry probably had around 350 rushing yards LC may have more yards actually because they had a lot at Half do to the extra posessions from Belfry's defensive TD's and short fields... then some trahs yards late 5 LC turnovers...2 Defensive TD's.. Willis had over 150 yards on only 9 carries for Belfry
ATLCat Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 Belfry has played 5 teams who will be advancing to their State's Respective Semi-FInals 1A Pikeville 2A NewCath 4A Johnson Central WV 3A Cabell Midland TN 4A Knoxville Catholic
DevilMayCare Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 This was pretty much a repeat of last year. Close, competitive game in the regular season. Then come playoff time... POW! Right in the kisser. The Pirates are rounding into shape at the right time. I think maybe this Haywood guy knows what he's doing.
ATLCat Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 This Belfry team is really, really good. X Willis is playing as good of football as anyone in 3A and the Pirates are really clicking on Offense and have figured out their roles. It's been a while since Belfry had to punt in Varsity action... maybe even all the way back to Cabell Midland but dont quote me on that. Pirate Defense is making big plays. I think that was their 5th Defensive TD of the playoffs (should have been 6 if TJ Dotson didn't stumble at the 1 with noone within 15 yards last week). Really, really like what I am seeing from this Pirate team and their chances with the three remaining 3A teams who haven't had the experience of previously gameplanning for Belfry's Offense.
Watusi Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 This team is coming together nicely. They are pretty well rounded including special teams. The most impressive stat is they only have 2 senior starters on offense and 2 on defense.
LionEagle Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 My prediction was close. I said running clock would start at 48-12 and was right about that but was a little off on final score. Congrats the Belfry and congrats to Lawrence on a good season. It looks like the Kiser and the Dalton brothers sure can make some plays.
newarkcatholicfan Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Belfry just being Belfry and My fav team in the state, just being sadly who they are when it comes to playing Belfry.
