Give it a few years. It will take time, but Brossart has low numbers so they won't have to play a lot of the bigger schools.

If by time you mean 10+ years, I agree.

Original signup figures were in the mid-fifties - HOWEVER, that included juniors that are incoming seniors.

 

The actual number of bona-fide Mustang football prospects who are non-seniors is presently in the upper thirties.

 

I too agree that many of the football players from our feeder parishes will continue to go to NCC or Campbell County until Brossart establishes itself as a respectable varsity competitor or shows strong signs of becoming a respectable varsity competitor.

 

It took our soccer program years to become the perennial contender that it has become. Football will have to go through the same growing pains BUT once it establishes itself as a contender, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will remain a contender.

 

I may be a bit presumptuous here, but whenever we would be kicking some football school's butts at basketball and the student section would break out in "Let's Play Football!" I often thought to myself that maybe that they should be glad that we don't play football.

 

Brossart High School has a tradition of excellence in anything that we compete in an I see no reason why we won't be contenders at football once our program becomes established.

 

A hot topic on our BMustangs discussion board last year was about whether we could have taken the talent walking the halls of Brossart in the fall of

'04 and competed with the top talent in Northern Kentucky Class "A" Football.

 

Had we had a program in place at that time there is no doubt that we could have. Could we compete at the top of the Class "A" football ranks this year with previous training - it goes without saying - we certainly could.

 

What the future holds for the future Brossart Football Mustangs is yet to be seen BUT when the day comes that we show that we can compete on a year in and year out basis with the best presently established football programs in Class "A" the "build it and they will come" mentality will kick in and success will breed success and I don't think we will be hearing the "Let's Play Football" from our hoops opponents any longer.

 

It's only a matter of time and talent!

 

 

 

I think that it is great that Brossart is shooting so high.

 

I will reluctantly other a little bit of advice--you may want to think about playing your first game--then again--maybe your first practice before you begin to make statements like:

I am not real sure what is better when you start up a program--confidence or a realistic thought process. But you are not going to help your (Brossarts) cause by making statements like this. All this will lead to is some consistent beatings by the big 2 . . . . .

Pendleton County has a very young, ambitious, and smart football coach. He will succeed.

I was wondering what you meant by smart football coach I hear they do nothing but run. They do not start 2 adays until the 1st of August. Smart? he has not had one game as a head coach! Only time will tell.
