Following is an abstract of the official school press release naming Tim Carver the first head football coach of the Brossart Mustangs.

 

Bishop Brossart High School officially began it’s football program by naming Tim Carver as the school’s first Head Football Coach.

 

Carver has been Head Football Coach at Pendleton County High School the last four seasons. Like the task ahead at Bishop Brossart, Carver built the Wildcat program from scratch. In three years of varsity, Pendleton County improved each year. They were 3-5 in 2003, 5-5 in 2004 and 6-4 last season.

 

Carver is ready to get started and excited about the prospect of football at Bishop Brossart High School.

 

The Wildcats last season scored 315 points while allowing only 172 in just their second full year in varsity competition.

 

The school has also begun renovation work on part of the old Alexandria Firehouse which Bishop Brossart has owned for several years. A new expanded weight room is being constructed for all sports as well as adding a large locker room area, coaches office space, showers, and additional storage which should benefit all sports at Bishop Brossart High School. That project should be completed by August.

 

Carver was chosen from a solid list of candidates that included both current varsity Head Coaches and assistant coaches.

 

The new coach, during the last 25 years, has coordinated, organized and executed football camps for grade school and high school football players, coaching clinics as well as most aspects of high school football that includes fundraising, meet the team nights, banquets and organizing little league programs.

 

Carver’s career began as a high school teacher and coach of several sports. He has been a teacher in public and private schools for over 25 years. He taught World Civilization and U.S. History at Pendleton County. He will, as a faculty member at Bishop Brossart, begin another new position at the school as Coordinator of the school’s new enhancement program.

 

His teaching and administration background also includes Guidance Counselor, Residential Therapy, and individual, group and family therapy. In addition to football he has coached wrestling, track, and fast-pitch softball.

 

The new Mustang coach began his coaching career as an assistant coach in 1977 at Franklin Heights High School in Columbus, Ohio. He has spent 21 years in the coaching profession with 15 as a Head Coach.

 

His first Head Coaching opportunity came in 1982 at New Albany High School in New Albany, Ohio. He remained there thru the 1985 season.

2004 Pineville Classic Champion (Defeated Pineville 20-6)

Schools are currently in the KHSAA “Dead Period.” There is no contact allowed at this point between coaches and players so Carver plans on meeting with players on July 10 and begin practice full tilt July 15.

Excellent choice for Brossart. He will be missed greatly at Pendleton. I have a feeling PC will be wishing they had him back! Congrats Coach Carver. We'll definitely be watching Brossart as an up and coming team.

Will his daughter be part of the staff?

From my short exposure to Coach Carver, I got the impression that he likes to do things the "right way."

 

Of course, one must question the guy since he went from a school in a conference with HHS and CCH to a school that , I'm assuming, will be in with Beechwood and NC.

Coach Carver did a good job with Pendleton's program and I think Brossart can be a good team in a few years. I know there are some big guys on the basketball team. Also, a lot of kids in Campbell County attended CCHS, or NCC because Brossart didn't have football.
